For most creatures, it's 24. Exceptions: Ornks are 12. Serviles are 14. All immobile creatures (spawners, turrets, etc.) are 0. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

Did you remember to replace the edited gf3itemschars.txt with the original? That's the file where monster walking speeds are stored. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

quote:Well, if you want to be even more technical, no matter how much you purify water it'll still conduct electricity a little because it spontaneously dissociates to H+ and OH- ions at a frequency of about 1 water molecule in 10 million at room temperature. An interesting aside about what we mean when we say "water": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twin_Earth_thought_experiment (For the record, my intuition is that XYZ is water, at least in the same common-use sense that, say, sea water is water.) quote:No it doesn't! Making lockpicking and unlock spells independent of each other makes you choose between spell energy and skill points, because it makes you choose between having a thief and having a mage. Making them reinforce each other makes you use both if you want to open every door. Of course, the disadvantage of making them independent is that everyone has a mage, so there's not much point having a thief. On balance, I think A4's way of handling lockpicking is better, but not for the reason you claim. quote:Having Gnass, Blosk and Dharmon all be within a few paces of each other makes the world more believable? What, the whole serfdom thing isn't enough for you? Of course, whether the Empire's occasional gross abuses of power are actually the reason that particular rebellion sprang up is open for question. Play through both sides' paths and form your own opinion on the people involved. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Depends where you live, of course. In Australia, your ENTER score (a percentile ranking based on standardising your grades against every student in the country) is by far the most important thing universities consider for most courses, and extracurricular activities are only considered when deciding whether to accept a student with a marginal score. Good idea on the new account thing. I tried setting one up and logging in through it and, well, it hasn't crashed so far. So if anyone needs to contact me on AIM, it looks like, for now at least, my new screenname is FaustusD. EDIT: Scratch that, now it's crashing on my new account as well. quote:For game-mechanical reasons, you should go for the standard option of checking the total party nature lore. The game's documentation actually advises players to spread their nature lore out among party members, so that's what most players will do. It's unfair to punish them for doing that. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

Normally I'd ask a friend on AIM about computer problems rather than bothering this forum about it, but, well, that won't work this time for reasons which will become obvious. I'm using an eMac running OS X 10.3.9. Every time I open an AIM client, within minutes it freezes up my computer entirely, requiring a hard reboot. (Sometimes the mouse pointer is still movable, but the computer is unresponsive to all input.) I've tried three different IM clients and they all show the same behaviour; the first time I start them, they work fine for as long as I keep them open, but the second and subsequent times I use the same client, they consistently crash. Could my AIM profile be corrupt? If so, does anyone know if there's a way to fix it without losing my contact list? -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure!
