Not as far as I know. Is it causing some kind of problem for you? You can always just ignore the autosave slots.

Well, not a serious problem, it's just that i'm using a quite old pc (Win 98, 750 MHz, 120 MB RAM, etc.) and it's rather annoying when it stops for five or so seconds every now and then right in the middle of play.

I got a 19 GB Windows XP and it stops for me too, everytime I think there's another program running behind it, but there's not any.

Although Auto-save saved me some times. :D

Be sure to download the patch, as this does take care of some of the problematic processor demands. That may help minimize the stress on your computer.

Patch - is it enough to have the version 1.0.1, which seems to be the newest one, or do I still need a patch?

change the name of the folder [installation location]\Avernum 4\Data\Save19to something besides "Save19".

you will get a minor error message when autosaves would otherwise occur.
