quote:Actually, BoA can give a "Failed to load [scriptname]" error if it just plain doesn't find a script file it's looking for. This either means that the script isn't in the scenario folder or is incorrectly named. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Nobody likes pharmaceutical companies. Even molecular biologists and synthetic chemists who rely on the pharmaceutical companies for their livelihood don't like them very much. Having said all that, they do occasionally provide products that do more good than harm. While a $253 million hit to the hip pocket certainly isn't going to bankrupt Merck, it's going to make them even more hesitant to bring new drugs to market, and I'm not convinced that's going to be good for patients in the long run. Patients need to be made more aware that any new drug will have potential risks that can't be detected through clinical trials on any reasonable scale. It isn't solely the fault of the pharmaceutical companies that patients currently tend to ignore these risks. There is one thing you should probably take into account, though; the fact that neither of them likes you probably suggests that you've been trying to play both sides, which could give you problems later on. It won't prevent you from finishing the game, but unless you're pretty much fanatically loyal to one side it can be difficult to get training. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Tell me about it. One of the labs I've worked in still has spectrometers from the 1980s. And I'm pretty sure nobody's bought an oscilloscope in the past 50 years -- either that or the design's remained exactly identical in all that time to avoid disturbing sensitive engineers. And sadly, your statement about Windows 3 is truer than you know; two years ago I was taking practical classes in a physics lab where the computers still ran Windows 3.1. The OS's built-in Disk Utility is fine for day-to-day maintenance. When serious problems arise (like your computer failing to boot from the HD), the guys at my local AppleCentre recommend DiskWarrior, which is what they use themselves. The price is pretty reasonable considering that it's a professional-quality product. -------------------- My BoE Page Bandwagons are fun! Roots Hunted! While we're talking about interestingly gruesome injuries, I split a toe wide open on the corner of a table a few months ago. The amount of blood made me rather glad that we'd torn up the carpeting a few years ago in favour of a bare wooden floor. There's still a little shiny bump of scar tissue on my toe from that incident. [ Wednesday, August 17, 2005 22:56: Message edited by: Thuryl ] -------------------- My BoE Page Bandwagons are fun! Itsuart, there's no need to be abusive to other members in the process of expressing your opinions. You've been warned about this before. While I'm tempted to let this topic live on the grounds that it has the potential to turn into an interesting discussion, it didn't start out very well and it really isn't appropriate for these forums. ![]() [ Wednesday, August 17, 2005 03:25: Message edited by: Thuryl ] -------------------- My BoE Page Bandwagons are fun! That's not quite how it works; the loss isn't linear. Besides, it all balances out eventually anyway, since high-level characters gain less experience. Even particularly creation-happy Shapers only end up about 5 levels below creationless Agents by the endgame. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure!
