As others have mentioned, Parry isn't nearly as good in Geneforge 3 as in Geneforge 2. In other words, it's merely a decent skill instead of one that completely breaks gameplay for one class, and thus throwing all your skill points into it is ill-advised. Either way, it's reasonable to go for around 15 parry by the endgame, but how fast you go for it will differ. This is a bug that crops up in older versions of the scenario for Windows. It's mostly BoA's fault, not TM's -- the string manipulation calls don't work as documented for Windows. Download the scenario directly from TM's site: http://tm.desperance.net/MadAmbition.html [ Wednesday, August 24, 2005 01:55: Message edited by: Thuryl ] -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Spring, careful with the semi-masked profanity, please. It's in the CoC, you know. I'd be surprised if TM didn't come back to these forums after his ban ended, if only to promote and support his scenarios as they're released. -------------------- My BoE Page Bandwagons are fun! It's not absolutely necessary -- BoA's capable of handling pretty long scripts. If you want to see REALLY long scripts being run, check out the High Level Party Maker. Some states push right up against the maximum limit of instructions BoA allows. On the other hand, for your own convenience you might want to break the script up into different states, if you find that makes it easier for you. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! The way around this, of course, is to save before casting Capture Soul and reload if it overwrites a monster you wanted to keep. EDIT: Drakey got in a moment before me, so I'll salvage this post's usefulness by pointing out that a Naga isn't really a great choice of creature to put in your Soul Crystal anyway. Spellcasters tend to be more trouble than they're worth. [ Tuesday, August 23, 2005 02:18: Message edited by: Thuryl ] -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Knowing Jeff, it's possible that he did inadvertently refer to it as Pralgrad at some point in either the Exile or the Avernum trilogy. I don't really feel like going on a fishing expedition tonight, though. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |
