Unless of course you're trying to play Blades of Exile with the Exile 3 documentation, in which case (a) no wonder you're confused and (b) we'll need to know which scenario you're playing. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Yeah, this has been observed before. Apparently Terror Vlish do have a terror attack in their creature definition script, but they never actually use it because the engine wasn't set up to deal with creatures with more than two kinds of attack. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! quote:If you've put a few points into Defence skill, it's sometimes possible to cast spells with an encumbrance of 2, but unless your Defence is extremely high you'll fail fairly often. It's better to just keep your encumbrance to 1 or less and not have to worry about it. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! quote:That "Things you have done in town will not be saved" message is pretty misleading, actually. Most of what you've done is saved, just as it would be if you left town by a more conventional route. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Have you confirmed that the walls are still gone if you leave town and return, so it's not just your current saved game remembering a previous version of the town? -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

Did you make sure that you actually remembered to place the wall in the town in the first place? Assuming you did, post your entire town script for that town so we can take a look at what might be going on. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Have you tried using different spells? Searer and Kill won't do much against monsters with high magic resistance -- other spells will work somewhat better. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

Come to think of it, there's also inhalation. Admittedly, this is pretty similar to smoking, only without necessarily setting anything on fire. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

To put it more simply, the node you're in determines what text is displayed, but the state you're in determines what questions are available. Once one gets used to the fact that this isn't anything like how it worked in BoE, it really isn't as confusing as it sounds. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Enter Ivalice and find a room with a bed in it, of course. (The one you want to go to is in the northwest corner of town.) Be warned: if you're using Windows, there's a bug in earlier versions of the scenario that could trip you up here. Did you make or upgrade a creation? Creations use up part of your essence and it can't be restored until they die. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

The graphic itself isn't the problem. You need to check your custom objects script and make sure your custom terrain has the correct te_move_block properties, or that you're importing from a terrain that does. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure!
