Are you sure you're sending the party to valid coordinates? It looks like you might be sending them to a location inside the walls or outside the town boundaries or something. And if the coordinates in the script itself are correct, are you sure there are enough non-blocked floor spaces in the part of town where they're being sent to for them to actually be placed there? There are at least two Bows of Decay, although I can't remember offhand where either is. You can learn Dispel Barrier from a spellbook in the Tower Colony after completing a quest for Kelner. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! It did. General is the new Misc. Uh, I mean, isn't. General isn't the new Misc. We're not supposed to say it is. Because it isn't, you see. Oh, and quote:Sure it can. It's the General forum, so a topic about anything specific is off-topic. :P [ Sunday, January 01, 2006 18:06: Message edited by: Thuryl ] -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! All you have to do is survive long enough and you'll pass the test. Keeping the monsters under control, in this case, means keeping them from killing you. Hold off the golems and as many worms as possible with a fighter, and try to kill the rest of the worms before they can attack. No. The dragons (that is, the ones who aren't dead) all went to the surface in Avernum 3, so their lairs are abandoned. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

To wit, click the Use button (the little hand icon beside the living tool in your inventory), then click on whatever you want to use the tool on (e.g. the lever you wish to unlock). Repeat as necessary. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

quote:I'm pretty sure there are at least three Mercuric Leathers and two Mercuric Chains to be found in the game, and you can get more Mercuric Leathers made for you by Kelda (the nephil, not the bandit) if you want. Another neat item: the Girdle of Life (+2 End), in a cache in the ruined city in the far west of the Great Cave. quote:You don't actually need to get that key, by the way. There's another copy of it in a box somewhere in the tunnels. The quickest way to kill pylons is to put your fighter within its attack range (so that it doesn't regenerate), and have your archers and mages attack it from as far away as possible (so they're out of range of the pylons' attacks). The Omnipresent Oakleaf bug has been reported before. Apparently the designer can't find anything wrong with the code that would cause it. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

Sorry for not being clearer. The Orb of Thralni quest isn't day 160 -- it's earlier. You get it either on a specific day or when you deal with a particular plague, whichever comes sooner. Actually, in some places it is possible to change your time zone by going north or south, since the International Date Line "bends" around major land masses. As for leap seconds, they're needed to adjust the length of the year to account for the fact that the rotation of the Earth is gradually slowing down. Basically, the day is slightly longer than it was when the length of the second was originally defined, and so the number of seconds in a year isn't what it used to be. Leap seconds make up for the difference. Really, you should have predicted that there's a Wikipedia article on this. It could be that he's trying to do the Orb of Thralni and/or Tower of Magi quests, and doesn't want to hang around for 160-odd days for them to happen on their own. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

BoE was always pretty good at displaying accented characters. I imagine BoA would do an okay job as well. After all, after the smart-quotes fiasco with various scenarios, we know it's capable of displaying accented characters when we don't want it to. :P -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! It's not all that uncommon; we've had similar experiences when growing pumpkins and zucchini. Pumpkins, zucchini and cucumbers all in the family Cucurbitaceae, so they're quite closely related, and it's not altogether surprising that they're able to hybridise. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure!
