There was the case a few years ago at the zoo where a small child fell into the gorilla exhibit and was rescued by a mother gorilla and brought to safety. There was a long debate over why the gorilla acted that way.

I tried to do it a shaper type so I could hang back outside the blast radius and have my higher health creations do the fighting. I became a deadweight shaper that just hangs around to heal them.

I don't know about doing some of these encounters as a glass cannon agent type. You don't have a lot of health with 1 endurance.

I think Jeff is out to get us. Have you seen the new opening graphic for the new beta? Coming to dinner with the drakons takes on a whole new meaning.

It's a pity that GF4 isn't out yet since there is a nice quote or two for this topic. So since I'll have to do without.

Justifying your behavior to lower species by your position as a superior species, i.e causing small animals pain is not evil, means that you can now go down the slippery slope and say that people that you consider beneath you can also be treated that way. After all that is the justification by Islamic terrorists that you can do violence to non-believers since they are below them. Since there are quotes in the Koran saying that Jews and other non-believers are pigs, monkeys, and other animals there is justification from Allah to treat them as animals and not as humans. The Nazis did the same for Jews, Gypsies, homosexuals, and others that didn't match the Aryan ideal.

Once you adopt a position of superiority as a reason, then it comes down to defining inferiors.

Batons reload automatically in combat. I think you could go into fight mode when there is nothing around and target something with it to get it to reload, and then hit escape to cancel.

You need to use mass madness to get them to fight amongst themselves. Unfortunately they them explode into more mindless worms that are immune to daze and madness spells. I'm still trying to get past that part. That ridiculous high resistance to magic attacks makes it like playing an Avernum singleton in Torment mode. You keep plinking away for a few points of damage each round.

With that in mind, any ideas for new titles for those idiots that need something similar. Things like "Noob scum."

Go into the folder for preferences for the operating system and look for the different Spiderweb game preference files. Copy those files to a disk or flash drive and you can reload them when your games "loses" their registrations.

I asked about GF1 during the summer and got the reply that Dikiyoba mentioned.

2) To improve a fyora you need a few levels of fire shaping before you make one. Otherwise you need to add essence to strength to have it hit more often and for more damage. You'll probably be better off waiting until Drypeak Warren (? )for training so you can get level 3 in fyora and make a cryoa instead.

In Avernum you have to retrieve a crystal soul first which isn't necessary in Exile. If you haven't done a crystal soul quest than go to the Council for help in starting one.

There are a few monsters beyond that passage that you can kill and come back for training. Also if you are careful and buff yourself you can take out the demons around Solberg's tower in the lava field.

You sound like you are near max since there aren't the random encounters of Exile to help out.

At least I didn't give away the drakon plan to have the Shapers over for dinner *oops*. You just had to mention the Gumbo plot.

Of course I signed the non disclosure agreement using blue ink and a cheap fax machine so my signature might not have gone through. So technically I might not be violating the NDA.

Mindcontrol - sort of in General

We already have some of that mind control where psychiatrists, police, and others of that ilk plant false memories in people. This has led to trials where some one is accused of a crime from the "victim's" repressed memory, a false confession bullied out of an innocent person after hours of questioning, or just a misinterpretation of a comment. Changing some one's memory is easy if you want to invest the time.

The fact that the memory is so unbelievable hasn't stopped people from spending years in jail when the argument is that a child couldn't make it up in so much detail. It just takes hours of coaching and making the person have some incentive to believe the new memory.

Jeff replaced anatomy with botany so you have an easier time find herbs for quests and item recipes.

You'll have fun figuring out which items to save for quests. By the time you're sure you'll have saved up enough to buy the last few spells and/or creations.

It looks like they lead to a dead end.

Still there are some situations where you can't walk away or talk your way out. Ghandi's idea of passive resistance wouldn't have worked with Hitler if he had gotten to India. It would just have made it easier. You had reports a few days ago of Chinese border guards shooting Buddhist monks trying to flee Tibet.

You really need to summon a Mung demon to dumbfound TM. Although with what happens with demon summonings it's not going to work out as planned. The game needs a silence spell against spell casters.

There is more than enough food since there are also mushrooms.

Level 5 seems a bit low to go into Chapter 2, even with two penalties you should be closer to level 9 or 10. Did you go west of Fort Draco for the spiders and sliths and south to do the Verdant Valley and the ruined Nephil Castle full of undead?

There is no point in increasing Mage or Priest past what you need to cast the spells you want. Jeff admitted that Magery and Spellcraft act the same but were supposed to be different and never got fixed.

The spell effects and new combat engine are two things from Geneforge that I wouldn't mind going over to Avernum this time.

I'm still wondering what will replace the placeholder graphics.

Get a copy of Knights of the Dinner Table issue 119, where they have reprinted parts of a news story. The Israeli army has started using llamas instead of donkeys as pack animals since they are easier to train and will attack predators. Part of a reoccuring proof that B.A. Felton was right about how vicious llamas are when provoked.

Kerry kept his military record secret duirng the 2004 campaign to hide the fact that his GPA was lower than Bush's. He didn't want the truth to come out that academically he was stupider than that idiot Bush.

It's finally out. Myth-Gotten Gains by Robert Asprin and Jody Lynn Nye with illustrations by Phil Foglio. In a strange coincidence the first dimension has all its inhabitants in dreadlocks.

It's entirely possible to do good deeds for others even though you don't get the recognition and feel miserable about doing it, There are other reasons including guilt, obligation, or it may be the easy way out. Still there are very few altruists out there and you may not know what the motivation was.
