I'll wait and see what's left unless someone picks one for me. At least with the Periodic Table of Elements there were updates of the list before the Table was made. We could always place Student of Trinity on the Moon and let him parcel out the craters and seas up there for an alternate map. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Not much chance of moving into 7th place this month. I started too late after only posting 49 times in the first week. There will be some fighting for 8th through 10th places to make the top 10. No more flame wars. We don't need bans and thread locks so close to Geneforge 4 release. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

I guess Jeff got tired of all the people that took him up on his old method for getting a refund. It probably delayed Geneforge 4 having to listen to people curse him out for several minutes for a refund. You can run through Geneforge 4 in about 50 to 60 hours depending upon how many areas you visit and whether you are taking notes. Although at that rate you probably aren't enjoying the game that much. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

The cults are acceptable as long as they are properly registered with the Inquisition. It's the propagation of the new origin theories that must be stopped. Anything that fails to follow the Canon must be stamped out. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

The details will come out in good time. Just like what the rats are up to in the Blades of Avernum Forum. It's easy to goad someone. After all we've all seen the effects of trolling and this thread recently had a flame war. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

You're telling me. I have enough trouble keeping up with Guardian Magma. At least I get on the boards later than he does. This is the most prolific month for me since I joined. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

I don't think I could get through Avernum 4 hoarding that much. Even as a singleton I spent almost everything I could find that I didn't need for potion ingredients or to use in combat. I did keep some items so I could swap armors. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Taking a hint from others (especially Dikiyoba) I found that placing the items in small piles allows you to quickly see what is in that pile if they aren't too close. So all the wands are together in a corner, etc. It takes a few minutes to see everything, but having like items together speeds up finding just one or two things. The editors are very limited in that they can only increase certain stats and give you items. The Spiderweb created editors allow you to remove items and conditions (Dread Curse) and do more controlled changes of the characters (additions and subtractions). Make sure you have saved copies of the particular scripts before you replace them with the editor version. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

I just checked and I could have 6 different creation types at once so the limit is gone. It usually doesn't pay to have that many except to have a variety of damage types and some creations run out of spell energy for their missle attacks in long hasted combats. If you are rich enough then all you need is to be able to pass the physical exam and training. 20 million dollars can take you a long way up. It'll probably drop once they get the commercial program off the ground literally. Besides once you are weightless it's not weight, it's just mass. If I remember correctly when I was 17 years old, I was 5 foot 6 inches tall and only 85 pounds. I was really skinny and had trouble gaining weight. Of course that changed when I got a roommate who when I came back from dinner told me that pizza was on its way and here's how much I would owe for my half. I'm playing a melee fighting servile right now. It seems to be fun, but I keep having to remember that I don't have half a dozen creations to swarm over the opposition. I tried a fire shaping shaper type for the last chapter with nothing higher than tier 4 creations and it worked well. It should be possible to use only tier 3 creations if you have enough shaping skill and have 4 or 5 of them. The main advantage to the tier 4 and 5 creations is the obscenely high health even with minimum shaping skill and creation skill. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

That would be telling. Besides The Simpsons last Sunday showed what happens when you try to invade against a determined civilian population that doesn't want to be occupied. You will be met with subversive resistance. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Using the same password in too many places can make it easier to get stolen, especially if it's one that is easily figured out like a birthday or pet name. Of course there are some passwords I can't remember anymore like the one to my old Star Trek type game so I can continue with my old rank. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

I think it was more an example of game designer fatigue. After sending off another email about a minor error that crept into the next game between beta versions, I think that Jeff never bothered for textual continuity. The testers were interested in the game playability and no one thought about the interpretations of the different bits of backround material. You are not wrong and the new things are kyshakks. I was running that party during the last chapter. It helped to compare the relative damages of each creation versus the same opponent. The game does favor replacing older creations more than the older games, but you still need to see if the improvement is worth it for you. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

As to the Young Vahnatai heresy, you forgot the contradicting evidence. Motrax in Avernum 1 mentions that there is another race that the humans will soon meet. Also there are the ancient bodies found in various places that you explore in Exile and Avernum 1. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Maybe as punishment they can be locked in a room with TM and discuss their family relationships. Especially since TM claims to have fathered almost everyone here at one time or another. I read the last few pages and they seem like weak offspring. Back to the Episode.
