It uses 1917, the same ship label that Exodus uses. -------------------- Guaranteed to blow your mind. Frostbite: Get It While It's...... Hot? Posts: 900 | Registered: Monday, August 8 2005 07:00 |

Well it works for calling up spell check in text documents, and that's the only thing I know it's used for. -------------------- Guaranteed to blow your mind. Frostbite: Get It While It's...... Hot? Posts: 900 | Registered: Monday, August 8 2005 07:00 |

You know it makes a backup file before it changes the outdoor size, so your scenario hasn't really been corrupted. Well F10 is the spellcheck hotkey on my keyboard, but all the F#s have shortcuts assigned them and F10 seems the only one not working, I know that F1 works to bring up the help file. -------------------- Guaranteed to blow your mind. And I must say it's pretty good. My complaint: I'm running on Windows XP and am having problems with a couple features. For one (and by far the most annoying) I can't exit a level. I hit F10 a dozen times, escape over and over, and any other key I can think of-- nothing. Next problem: whenever I minimize the game it promptly crashes when I bring it back up. Any suggestions would be nice. These errors are occuring in both Subterra and Subterra 2. -------------------- Guaranteed to blow your mind. Frostbite: Get It While It's...... Hot? New Request: This goes hand in hand (at least in my mind :D ) with the idea of having creature's scripts not just read "default" but rather their real script. I was thinking it would be nice to have a "Reload Default Creature Scripts" option. Basically the problem is that I'll place a bunch of custom monsters with no custom script (And thus Basicnpc as the default) then later alter the data when I decide I need a custom script for that creature. Unfortunately the editor still remembers when Basicnpc was the default, so I have to either write all the scripts in by hand or replace all the monsters. This new option would recheck what every creature's new default is, and set their current script appropriately. -------------------- Guaranteed to blow your mind. Frostbite: Get It While It's...... I've always thought the singleton party isn't really a 'challenge set up.' In the beginning it can be rough, but before long you'll be so many level ahead of your enemies that nobody can land a hit on you in melee. Paralysis and webs is the only real problem. In Exile it was a real challenge. -------------------- Guaranteed to blow your mind. Frostbite: Get It While It's...... Hot? Posts: 900 | Registered: Monday, August 8 2005 07:00 |

I've had a problem with the 3D editor's Change Outdoor Size feature. Basically it corrupts various towns, which eliminates its usefullness for obvious reasons. I've tried it with various scenarios with no success. Has anybody else had this problem? -------------------- Guaranteed to blow your mind. Frostbite: Get It While It's...... Hot? If that was you who created that thread, then I'd like to say way to spread the good word. Just before I wrote myself off as a complete failure, I tried it with just squaring those big nasty numbers and got the right answer. Your way seems like it could be useful, but I just can't get it to work. When you take the log of the left side of the equation you just get a big nasty: Log((x+3)^.5 + (x-3)^.5)) Where can I go with this? OK new problem. I have the two medallion halves, the chain, the purple berries, and the potion. However, I don't have any ember flowers. Where was I supposed to find them? As promised I'm home in time to play The Final Spire. Unfortunately I'm stuck, and the contest deadline is breathing down my neck. What do you do when you're trapped in the crystal? It says "If only you have a diamond..." Well I don't, and I have no idea what the hell to do. Help please. -------------------- Guaranteed to blow your mind. Frostbite: Get It While It's...... Hot? Allowing eligibility for the 9th contest gets a big thumbs up from me, as does Kelandon's Sunday-deadline idea. Which Sunday it is doesn't matter much to me, the first Sunday of April or last Sunday of March seem like the two most likely candidates. New question: Should entries be released to the public, or should that wait until after judging? I ask because I remember hearing about people doing this for previous contests, and was wondering if this was standard practice or just designers being secretive. -------------------- Guaranteed to blow your mind. 1. I don't play Geneforge, so it's between Exile and Avernum. I think the E3/BoE engine and the Avernum engine are both good, and each have their positives and negatives. I prefer Avernum because BoA is more powerful, and... because I can. 2. Hopefully Blades. :D 3. I started with Exile 3 way back in..... well it was about 9-10 years ago I think, so 1997-98? -------------------- Guaranteed to blow your mind. Frostbite: Get It While It's...... Hot? So far I've read the Silmarillion and A Midsummer Night's Dream on my trip, and just started reading The Taming of the Shrew. It's the first time I've read Shakespeare that wasn't for a school assignment, it's been more enjoyable than I expected. I can also report that the only thing I've taken from my hotels over the last week are some bars of soap, some of those little shampoo bottles, and a towel (trust me, they owed me that towel!) -------------------- "NOW PASS ME MY BOOTS.
