Shift + d (caps was the problem) managed to turn it off, and I don't seem to be able to get it up again (not that I want to)! Thanks.

I'll download the latest version anyway, just in case.

So what's this got to do with a new moderator? Do you mean JV's going to start moderating over here. I for one wouldn't mind that if it meant he'd be around more. He'd have to be active to moderate, after all ;) .

Guys,

I'm really VERY stupid. Somehow, (don't ask how-I don't know) I managed to turn on DEBUG MODE!!!

Now obviously I'm VERY annoyed, as I don't seem to be getting much XP, and none of my keyboard shortcuts work, eg. hitting f brings up debug menu etc.

PLEASE tell me how to turn the darned thing off.

Thanks,

Hmm.

Well, most of those things would be nice, and we could always use a new plot twist. But it won't happen (realistically), so...

People have joked about this happening as something to frighten people (like Homeland).

This actually happening would spell disaster for Jeff Vogel (form this community at least).

Perhaps another race from far across the seas who have no knowledge of Shaping or magic, but who are technologically superior to the Shapers (pistols, muskets, cannon, etc.) The Rebellion would then be forced to choose between two evils.

Yes, but then the Sholai might take advantage of the situation to attack the Shapers, or they might work together, and the war would just get more complicated.

Oh well, just gotta wait a lot longer.

Or you could just make it yourself. Spiderweb has NEVER made any themes for Windows, and I doubt it would start now for Exile, even if it does bring back fond memories.

If you want one so badly, make it yourself (it's not very hard), and then post it up here for us all to see (and improve upon if you want). I'm sure you can find someone to help you make icons and cursors if you can't, and for the rest it'll be easy.

Just choose, and then if you want make it/them avaliable to the community. Then it's up to them to use it/them or not.

There is a monster (can't remember which - an undead) which lowers your character's XP. Perhaps you just came into contact with too many of them. I recall that they can be hell with your XP.

They're all good for different creatures along the way. For example, Ice Spray does more damage to some Vahnatai than Arcane Blow, even though Arcane Blow is immensely powerful, and Acid Spray while useless against most creatures is indispensable against Golems.

Maybe there's a way using scripting to create a wand which lets you choose?

Space Empries 4 is one of the best strategy games for windows around at the moment, right up until Se5 comes out, even if you don't like space games. Turn based fun and galactic happenings - Heaven.

P.S. I was not in any way advising people to all suddenly download the demo. I was just telling them what it was. Besides, its a windows game only.

Changes for Better or Worse? in Avernum 4

IMAGE(http://www.ironycentral.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ubb/smile.gif) The characters were refreshing, after Geneforge.

IMAGE(http://www.ironycentral.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ubb/frown.gif) There are meant to be people in Avernum - aren't there? I swear I only saw around 250 normal people so far. I always thought that there were more people than that in Avernum.

IMAGE(http://www.ironycentral.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ubb/smile.gif) You could see exactly how much health an enemy or ally had. Much more accurate than the Health Bar.

IMAGE(http://www.ironycentral.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ubb/frown.gif) It's way too easy now, even on torment.

IMAGE(http://www.ironycentral.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ubb/smile.gif) You have no "last-minute-chances" if your health goes beneath 0.

IMAGE(http://www.ironycentral.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ubb/frown.gif) You can't die.

IMAGE(http://www.ironycentral.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ubb/smile.gif) New graphics!

IMAGE(http://www.ironycentral.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ubb/frown.gif) Is everyone in Avernum an identical twin or something?

... And much much more.

I have to say though, I still bought the game.
