Ah,

Okay. That clears a few things up. One other thing though: will this NPC stay with the party in Outdoor combat, or will it just simply fail to appear?

Guys,

I've been looking for a way to get certain npcs to join the party (if the party has a free slot). It's kinda like those people in A2 who join (Becca or something). My only problem is - I don't see it in the documents. Is this capability even in BoA?

Thanks,

- Archmagus Micael

I am working on the Emerald Tortoise Scale still, but I had to stop because of massive schoolwork, and the fact that my dialogue scripting sucks. However, it's holidays at the moment, so I'm planning on carying on. I mean - with only the dialogue to play with, I'm nearly done - and then there'll be another of my scenarios around - hopefully a far better one than UV.

So yeah - I'm around a bit, and will work on it as I can. That means robably a LOT of posts on help with the dialogue.

Guys,

By any chance could any of you mac users who have the game (us win lot can't :( ) take some screenshots of the Game and then post them up here. Just any old screenshots at random places in the game would REALLY be appreciated. I just really can’t wait – and the pictures on the main site haven’t been updated yet!

Hi,

This is a silly question, I know, and probably doesn't belong here, though some might argue it's saner than what's normally in the General Board.

Does anyone here play Shadowmere? I've asked on my other forums and was just wondering.

Thanks!

P.S. If you want this topic to fade away, let it. DON'T post saying it'w rubbish - that will just keep it alive longer!

Personally,

I found that simulacrum and summoning were the most effective. I would just simulacrum a few Vahnatai Warriors to hurt the "GINTS", while blasting the Giants with Divine Thud/Firestom.

If there were too many Giants for this I would use summoning spells, and THEN the above.

Like Thralni said (ish):

Have you gotten a newer OS (like Win XP), or have you installed any lrge programs lately. Also, you could just try re-downloading your graphics drivers. Or your screen res might be too high (eg 64 Bit.

But just to appease you, I've added a completely pointless set_state_continue and break statement.

Thanks!

I was wondering whether it needed a few of these: { or not, but I always thought the game refered to those as parenthesis, not brackets.

Anyhow, I think I'll leave it without the break in, just cause it looks nicer like that.

Thanks! (until my next evil problem).

That's what I normally do, but Thuryl's code seems to do it differently, so I thought that I might as well do it as Thuryl's example shows.

As it is, I think I'll just have to wait for Thuryl to post a reply anyway.

Ah - Thuryl,

The game's now whining about a while loop not having a bracket.

Also, should there be a break or not before "beginstate 11 (in my caase 29)?

Thanks!

Guys,

Is there a way (hopefully not too complicated) to make the random_party_member() call NOT select a character already taken by one of these calls.

Example:

a = random_party_member();
b = random_party_member();
c = random_party_member();
d = random_party_member();

Elizabeth is A. I don't want Elizabeth to be B,C or D. Those I want for say. Rachel, Rupert and Furball.

So each of these random_party_member() calls can select 1 character, but they can't select a character alredy selected.

Does this make any sense? :(

Also,

Kel, I'll probably be using your "Shaking Screeen" script for in this cutscene.

Explain? Even in A2 Avernum controls more of the caves than the Empire, I think.

Well, in A1 they weren't very obvious, but they had loads of bases everywhere, and effectively could decide what was going on in Avernum using ewll-placed operatives.

I haven't finished Avernum 2 yet, but from what I've seen, the caves are beginning to fall to the Empire, little by little.

So this constitutes in my eyes at least, more of Avernum being controlled by the Empire.

Well,

This seems to have had replies in the Geneforge 3 Board, and no-one's done it here, so I've decided I might as well see how it goes.

1. People are larger than Beds.

2. You can be brought to life with little trouble, but important people (like Erika or Hawthorne) can't.

3. If people were thin and bleached they would be called Vahnatai.

4. The Empire owned more of Avernum than Avernum did during most of the trilogy.

5. Skirbbane is dangerous!
