Please do not double post. You can edit your posts if you need to add something. --- I'm torn between moving this to Avernum Trilogy, A4, Geneforge Series, or locking it. However, I suppose General *is* still for general discussions about all games, and the topic hasn't been talked to death for more than, oh, a dozen times. So it stays. --- However, llama, I advise you to stop starting new topics for a while. If you post 1 topic per week, that is still more than the average. [ Friday, April 07, 2006 02:47: Message edited by: Kuranes- ] -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast. ... Not another Spidweb game poll. In any case, Geneforge is garbage so, IMHO, Avernum wins. -------------------- Polaris - owns you. Undead Theories - double U slash E Posts: 3323 | Registered: Thursday, April 25 2002 07:00 |

Well, I don't know if I can see that Avernum vs. Geneforge has been done yet. The winner is quite clear though, I think. -------------------- -ben4808 Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

You can take your Geneforge and stick it where the sun don't shine. Then it would have the best of both worlds! Not really. Avernum's still better. —Alorael, who would love to give Nociduas a taste of his own medicine. He can summon a demon, but can he summon an army of Terror Vlishes? The series are so different from each other that I can't choose. They both have good points and some not-so-good points. Dikiyoba can't even make a decision based on how many games of each Dikiyoba owns, since Dikiyoba owns two of each. Oh well. Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

I'm sorry, but as my first Spidweb Game (that I bought) was Exile 3, which is basically Avernum 3, I'd have to say that good old exile/avernum wins hands-down. I really loved Geneforge 1, but even though I've bought the latest 2, they don't compare to GF1, but the entire Avernum trilogy is really good. - Archmagus Micael -------------------- "You dare Trifle with Avernum?" ~ Erika the Archmage -------------------- My Scenarios: Undead Valley : A small Undead problem, what could possibly go wrong? -------------------- Richard Black - PROOF of his existance (the Infernal one's website). -------------------- MY FORUM! Since we are playing the "find the grammatical problems" game, here is the next move. :) quote:FYT: Sorry if I have spelt anything incorrectly, as I'm not a good speller. 1. "Wrong" is an adjective, while "incorrectly" is an adverb. 2. Independent sentences shouldn't be joined together by a comma alone. You also need a preposition. EDIT: My point 2 was wrong. In this case "Sorry if I have spelt anything incorrectly" is a subordinate clause, so that "as" actually introduced a new error. However, it allowed the game to continue, so it's all good. :) [ Friday, April 07, 2006 10:46: Message edited by: Zeviz ] -------------------- Be careful with a word, as you would with a sword, For it too has the power to kill. llama, please do me a favour, and edit your first post, and fix the spellings. I know you don't mean to do it, but it does annoy. This is what it should say: "What is better?" or more accurately: "Which is better" Besides, as well as pleasing me, the others might lay off a bit. As for the answer to the poll, Geneforge 1 and 2 and Avernum 2 are about equally enjoyable when taken individually, but Avernum is better as a series, because all Avernum games are quite different, while if you've played one Geneforge game, you've played them all. -------------------- Be careful with a word, as you would with a sword, For it too has the power to kill. Corrected version is located in the quote below. (Corrections are marked by italics.) The problems were with grammar rather than spelling. If I've made any mistakes myself, I claim the "not a native speaker" defense. :) quote:EDIT: It's irrelevant how Llama spells his name, because names should always be capitalized, and even if that wasn't the case, first word in a sentence always has to be capitalized. EDIT2: Made my own post more grammatically correct.
