quote:Undesirable to some... And there's always incineration. Might make an interesting topic that - burial or incineration, and reasons why. Still, I'm too lazy to start it. And I've probably gone and spelled "incineration" wrong anyway. I'm gonna pout. Edit: I'm not gonna start the topic out of respect for Fenwik, who recently lost his wife. It doesn't seem right to go on about death when somebody has just passed away. Fenwik - I truly feel for you. It isn't easy to lose somebody you love so dearly. BoA/BoE. BoA is easier to play, but BoE has more scenarios. And tends to look nicer. Any of the Avernum's are good, the best in my opinion being Avernum 2. Don't, however, start at 3. It is the worse one. Oh, and try Nethergate. It's easily the best of Jeff's games. It's fun, and despite it's shortness, you do get to play as both Romans and Celts! -------------------- "I am a living sign..." Thus endeth this post. I'd recommend 1984 by Orwell, and Brave New World by Huxley. I had to do a similar assignment, and choose those two for their views on distopias. I'm Nikki, 17 years of age, and weird. I resemble Marvin the Paranoid Andorid (of "Hitchhikers" fame) in almost every way, apart from him being fictional, and a robot. I have a deep love of irony and coffee. Usually I mix the two. I am a massive fan of Alex and his stick drawings, and Alorael's posting prowress. I also stalk Arancaytar. Any other information about me can be located somewhere on these boards, or in CIA filing cabinets. EDIT: I am an athesist, and my political persuasion is left-wing. I am a socialist, and sometimes verge on the extreme left. Marx had a lot of good ideas... Well, at least we have Jeff's words that Avernum 4 "adheres closely to the Avernum system". And supposedly he'd know (if Drakey/RW deigned it necessary to tell him). The shortness of reply probably speaks volumes though. I don't think he's too impressed with those who got all in a lather over the screenshots. And rightly so... -------------------- Everybody knows, but nobody understands. Thus endeth this post. Posts: 2864 | Registered: Monday, September 8 2003 07:00 |

quote:You could still tell them, and explain that it is a good thing. It might get them interested in SW. Personally, I don't know of anyone in the real world (that I talk to) that have played a Spiderweb game. They might all be playing them now, but it's unlikely. And, strange as it may seem, I don't mind. Spiderweb is then my thing - something I have that they don't. Besides, them with their nice musical scores and super-flash-bang graphics don't deserve the to experience the charm of Exile. -------------------- "I am a living sign..." Thus endeth this post. quote:Why would you do that? Is having the world's most dangerous chemicals in your bathroom cabinet appealing to you in someway? To me, the thought of wildly grabbing some sulphuric acid whilst looking for some aspirin doesn't make my smile. Unless it's in a comedy film starring Ben Stiller. Then it's acceptable. My favourite compliment to say was "you're beautiful". Then came the court order... -------------------- "I am a living sign..." Thus endeth this post. So you didn't actually quit if you were permanantly banned, did you...? Still, not many people here will be bothered, I'm afraid to say. You could blame it on today's fast-paced society, with it's fast food joints and Internt Cafes. I personally blame squirrels. Err, Kel, I think I've got an error here. It happens in Khar-Grav at the flying demon fight. The two nearest flying demons (the ones on the west edge of the altar platform) fly across the chasm fine. The third however, doesn't. Instead, it flies southwest into the wall, and BoA freezes. Last time I played, I managed to Repel Spirit and Cloud of Blades all of the demons in one or two turns - before they flew. However, I was replaying just this morning, and let them come at me. Thus I saw the error. I checked the scripts, and it seems fine - I have no idea what's causing this. Anyway, I managed to reload and kill them sharpish, and I'm now back at the guardpost resting up, but I wanted to alert you to this (assuming nobody else has). What time are the results posted? Oh, and to recap: 1st --- Bahs 2nd --- MA 3rd --- Canopy 4th --- Druids of Krell 5th --- Emerald Mountain I'm probably way off with Emerald Mountain. And I reckon they might like LP enough to push it up into the top 5. Storywise, it's great. Either way, I think Kelandon's $500 dollars richer! -------------------- And when you want to Live How do you start? Where do you go? Who do you need to know? I'm from, and in, "sunny" England. Which, at the time of writing, actually is sunny. However, my exact location on the surface of the Earth isn't information I'm going to let all and sundry know. In England things are a bit different. We have Primary School from 5 - 11, then Secondary School from 11 - 16. After that you can go to either College (for 2 or 3 years) or Sixth Form (usually 2 years). After that, it's University. Only Primary and Secondary schools are compulsary. I'm in my second year of Sixth Form, studying for my A Levels. -------------------- "I am a living sign..." Thus endeth this post. Posts: 2864 | Registered: Monday, September 8 2003 07:00 |

Well, since you managed to miss the 1000, I don't have to pretend to be mad/jealous/ignorant of your achievement. And, since you're one of the nicer, cuddlier members of Spiderweb, I'll even give you a congratulatory goat. Look after him, won't you?
