to TM: 'über' covers 'over', 'above', 'about' and sometimes 'beyond'. Alec, if you wish to use those words: it's 'Scheiße' and 'Schit' (both have the same meaning, but Schit is nicer, though mostly used in the north, as it is northern dialect). -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

"Coronis! But that doesn't look too well. The harbour is under siege. Captain, I don't want to meet with all those imperial vessels. Though we have a stealth spell around us, we better try to stay on the safe side. How well do you know these waters? We should be able to hide from all eyes, if we got out close to those rock cliffs. Is that possible?" "Ai, madam, it is." "Great, then we sail there. The stealth spell will stay on you and your crew, while you wait for us." "Guys, we are too many to travel unnoticed. It will have to be 'invisibility' for all of us. As soon as we are ashore, we start moving towards Coronis. See what we'll find there. Keep your eyes open for Firedrake. He's around somewhere." 'A spy among my people. Who? I'll have to watch them all the time now. Mmh. Distrust serves no purpose. Attentiveness does. Lewis - . It's possible. Am I trapped? Seems so. Not enough information on anything. I follow the guide lines given me for the now. Until I see more of the picture. I don't like this. Though in the end I may have to be what I am. But not yet.' "New orders for everyone. We retreat to our ship immediately and leave this town. Stay close together, right so, I want to waste no time, so it will have to be teleportation - now." "Captain, it's west to Coronis. Thank you." ef put a stealth spell on the ship and confronted her people. "I'm sorry, this had to be dealt with quickly. We are going to support a town in trouble. I cannot tell you much more, but I will, later on. Rest a bit, you won't have to wait long before the fighting starts again." 'I just hope, FD wins through to Coronis. If not, I will have to help out. One point is clear to me: I don't like the General's politics. I would have had to fight anyway, here or back home. So what. - Lethalis, Lethalis, wake up, listen.' and ef filled him in. 'Keep your eyes and ears open. The spy can be here with me or at the inn with you. Stay in contact. I will do the same.' "Guys, we go to Coronis. The city is under siege and we help the people evacuate. It won't take us long to get there." It may be different in the district you live in, David, but whenever I've had Jehova's Witnesses at my door, my 'no' was not accepted. Instead I was told that they worry about my soul's salvation, which is a sure way to antagonize me. You see, my soul is my own to deal with, moreover do I not believe that any soul is ever lost. I have to simply shut the door while they continue talking, and that makes me aggressive, as it is a humiliating thing to do, and I hate to be forced to do it. -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

"Archmage, your ice-spells!" Turning round from where he was blustering bats with fire, Archmage Alex realized Lone Flame's dilemma and reacted spontaneously. Ice bolts shot forward, eliminating the menace. Lone Flame got up. "Thanks, that was dicey. I'm freezing. Take a care what you're aiming at. You almost got me." The Archmage grinned and returning to his fire spells, continued to fry the bats. -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

Touch is the socalled 'primary sensory awareness'. It is the first sensory awareness a babe has to experience to develop a 'feeling of identity'. Babes, who are not touched, die. Babes, who are not touched often enough, have difficulties later on to feel themselves. They grow into children who do not know how to draw a line, they cannot feel themselves and their own needs clearly. There are whole bunches of therapists working with such children, trying to help them. Touch reaches more than the skin. If we can open to it, it touches us deeply. -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

I don't know what to say. Though I'm a woman I feel hurt. Edit: Yes, Alec, that would be a logical consequence. Though of far less importance than interdicting a couple who loves to touch each other. Imban, your slang expressions are sometimes used in non-english speaking countries with a different meaning and different associations. Any young girl here would tell you that a boy 'buggered mich an', when she wanted to say that the boy was interested. I don't know about Finland though. -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

OOC: Mmm. Alec and Drakey seem to share a few traits. ICC: "Firedrake, the attack fits in. There are too many secrets around, too many factors are unknown. This is much more than fighting a skribane ring. This is a power struggle of immense proportion. My mind is wide open to you all the time. I'll listen and you can talk with me, your thoughts will reach me. I do not know what we will have to confront. Should it be necessary, then I will teleport Lethalis to aid us. I thought I'd tell you that, so that you know you can ask for his presence anytime and be sure that I act on your request." -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

quote:That was not how I understood that article, when I read it. It says little to nothing about her personality in my opinion, away from stating her obedience and loyalty to the codex of her congregation, which is a traditional and sanctioned codex within monasteries. Obedience, poverty, sacrifice and the love of God above personal attachments of any kind are basic rules, as far as I know. The sister who wrote the article rebelled against those rules and against Mother Theresa only as a representative of the rules, as she says herself: quote: -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

"Oh my God. Well let's see." ef focused on Mars for some time, seeking for clues. Then she turned to Lone Flame. "I cannot use Repel Spirit or like spells. An evil overwhelmed him and drove him out of his body. He is still alive, he is around. I have to get it out without destroying the body." Watching Mars closely, ef emanated light, white and golden, and sent it towards the demonic creature. Mars body cringed, then twisted and moaned, until he was shuddering and shaking uncontrollably. The eyes rolled, bulbed, then closed. With a shriek the demon creature vanished, evaporating into nothingness. Mars body was lying on the floor, very still. "It is up to him now, Lone Flame. I cannot force him back into his body. It is his decision. We have to wait." -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

"Flame boy, I like to have you back. Welcome. A word of warning though. This mission may prove to be extremely dangerous. More so than any other we have confronted so far. Stay in close contact with Wise Man, Namothil and all the others. We should all listen to each other and feel ready to support each other any time. I feel that that might be necessary. I was told to assemble you here. It shouldn't be long, before we seriously start whatever it is we came here for." 'World power - I? I never longed for that. What is Ilofehk up to? Does he need such power? Well, strangely I trust him. So I'll probably support him. We'll see. The family comes first. I have to protect them. Which reminds me' "What I hear about Mars is terrible. I will try. But if I cannot manage a healing, he will have to be killed. Demons around us now is too dangerous by far. I try to save him, Lone Flame, if I can. What is troubling me most is that it happened at all. This continent is strange, magical and very unsafe for us. Be careful and cautious, all of you." -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

Pondering the message, ef walks back to the inn. Wise man's battle with his father comes into her thought and a feeling that that may have some meaning in the future. Then she remembers Wise Man's words. "Corroding blades - that's interesting. I will keep that in mind. It may indeed come in handy." Entering the inn, she comes upon someone she recognizes: "Sullust!! How's that possible? Fill me in, how did you manage to come here? And welcome! We are in the midst of trouble, as usual. The guys will be more than happy to see you. Well, I'll go to the landlord and get you a room. Make yourself comfortable. I am back in a trice and want to know what happened to you." Searching for the landlord, she thinks about the message again. "I trust all my guys. They have to assemble now. I will call them." - 'Listen, all of you, hear me! Come back to the inn. We'll soon start action. I need you know. Come here.' - OOC: Tempest, you are at the inn in New Silvar and you will have to wait for Lethalis. None of us others is there at the moment. I do not wish to contribute to your departure. I respect faith deeply. Even though I do not respect the politics of churches, catholic or other. Mother Theresa may have been one of the very few people who are able to transcend love and prayer from the personal to the transpersonal and live and feel and act from a transpersonal level only. Once that state is reached, all personal involvement vanishes. But it is rare. Not being permitted to feel compassion on a personal level can be misunderstood as not being permitted to feel at all by sisters who are more earthly bound. What to her very probably was all love on her level may have felt icy cold to such who could not reach through to where she was. Transpersonal is not impersonal, but it is often seen as that. Though suffering can motivate selfdevelopment and growth, I do not see it as a virtue in itself. With this I disagree. I wish you would stay. I think you are needed. -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

I have nothing to counter it, Koth. I find it easy to believe what the article tells, as it is perfectly in tune with the catholic church's financial politics over the course of centuries. Nothing is said about who Mother Theresa really was as a person, away from stating that she adamantly abided by the strictest traditions and rules laid out for monasteries. Purification through suffering is still seen as a virtue in quite a few catholic families. I know several, who only feel 'good', when they sacrifice themselves in one way or other. -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |
