"What the hell is going on here and where is Archmage Alex? I want you all to search for him. Captain Ohab, looking for one of my crew members has made me aware of your ship's very strange proportions. What? Magically altered size? That's what I need now. Listen everyone. This ship's magically enlarged on the inside. Find the Archmage and report to me!" -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

"Lord Szas, your advice is appreciated, as is your company. Advise me then what garments will be proper for a middle-aged lady in Aizo. Also what kind of hairstyle. I will not get myself a different body, I wish my people to recognize me. So nothing will ever make me tall, but I can adapt to your custom, as can my men." -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

"Well done, Archmage, but it may be safer and more convenient to charter the whole ship instead of passages. Try if that is possible, will you? And ask Raphnotch, if he has a mind to come with us." OOC: Raphnotch, not that it matters, but it is fremd, not fremde. "It confirms what I already know, that General Lewis and the Slith Mage are in league with each other. To find out more it is high time for us to go to Aizo. The Imperial Ruler may also be part of this or he may be an unconscious victim. That remains to be seen." -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

OOC: OK, I'll get us together. IC: ef, studying the magic artifacts she had brought with her after the battle, paused for a moment and listened. It seemed to her that the Nightmares were through with collecting their plunder. Moreover, there'd been no sign of Alorael anywhere around or in that building. Deciding that it was time for them to come home, she teleported them all back to the inn, where Archmage Alex was busy preparing everything for their sea voyage to Aizo. ef thanked them all and advised them to get as much rest as they could, as they had still to wait for Ilofekh's assistant, who would journey with them. OOC: Good question, Alex. I wish, Sasha came up with some hints. I do not know, if he expects us to go to Aizo and wait for him to start his story or if he is journeying with us or journeying us. So, Sasha/Alec - give us a hint? -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

OOC: Ilofekh has been informed of a meeting of our rival ring in the imperial ruler's summer palace in Aizo. It is not quite clear, if the ruler is party to this or victim. We will go there and find out and fight. The story line will be Sasha's. -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

I'm not running XP myself, friends who do told me about this. I could give you the URLs of german sites where I would look, if I searched for such an update. But you won't probably be able to read them. Best option may be to go on the Microsoft site and search there. But please do that only, when you don't have too many cracks on your computer. Otherwise, ask a friend. -------------------- Polaris Rache's A3 Site reformatted 2/3 done Rache's A3 Site, original version Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

"My God, that was close! Everybody take a rest, we are good for nothing, weak as we are. I give you a healing - like this - rest now. I need time for Lethalis." ef went and knelt beside him, concentrating on small signs of life and faintly flickering vitality. 'He took too much darkness. Why does he always do that, never heeding the price he has to pay. I'll work from within and without. Draw healing to him and hold on to his lifeforce, until it is done. Slowly now, don't rush anything or you lose him. Slowly. Yes. - ' Patiently and with deep concentration Lethalis was brought back from the deep dark regions he had withdrawn to. ef looked ashen when it was done. Too tired to give it a second thought she teleported a good, strengthening meal from the inn, blissfully unaware of the strange looks the guys gave her, before they ravenously started to attack the food. They all felt a bit better afterwards and more themselves again. "Well, let's investigate this house. We shouldn't forget that we still miss Alorael, and though I don't know, if they have brought him to this place, we might as well look for him while we are here." OOC: Sorry, Lone Flame. You had not posted when I started writing. [ Tuesday, April 01, 2003 17:41: Message edited by: ef ] -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

"Stand fast, my boys, stand fast. I see your plight." ef teleported in. "I'm with you." Healing surged through the party, mending body and mind. And a special blessing went out to the fallen Lethalis. "Now - REPEL SPIRIT -" towards the necromancer and stepping back, turning to the party "DIVINE WARRIOR" was thrown first on Wise Man, then Mars, Namothil and the slowly recovering Lethalis. "Go on with it, guys, I stay here. I help you out". And confronting the approaching evil "REPEL SPIRIT" brought it to another halt. "Finish them off, I back you!" -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

OOC: This RP is set into the empire lands that have been given to Avernites. It has an inn, a skribbane ring with enemies, a hospital and a museum. There are political intrigues and power struggles. The long and short: this RP deals with humans, not gods. It knows no Atlantis, as Atlantis is not part of the Avernum series. We all adapt to that, and so will you, if you want to play with us. -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

OOC: You have hopped into an action of the Nightmare Squad, TGD, which is under my command. So it is I who hire you, if you want to participate. You are a blatant killing person in Lethalis' group and get your orders from him. If you try overpowerful spells and the kind of things I've seen you do in other RP's, we'll ignore your posts. Quite officially, Drakefyre is still manager of this operation, just to remind you. -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

Sorry, I don't catch your problem. I'm on Nvidia AMD myself with DirectX 8. Windows XP can cause problems, should you run that. You might try reducing the screen resolution, though I'm not sure, if that will help. You could also run a DirectX test, just in case.. But it is strange anyway that the Exile-Setup works, as it is the older one. I suggest that you e-mail Jeff Vogel. -------------------- Polaris Rache's A3 Site reformatted 2/3 done Rache's A3 Site, original version Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

"I wouldn't mind, if you went to Aizo, Archmage Alex, but you can't go alone. I want exceptionally good spies on that project as well as a fighting force, should it be needed. Too much is uncertain and depends on what we will overhear. Nothing can be decided now, before the Nightmares are back with their report. I would appreciate it, Archmage, if you supervised the preparations. Fur cloaks, boots, gloves, weapons, food - whatever has to be transported. Tell me, when there is any special need of something." -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

OOC: Sasha: I wouldn't mind. I'd be happy to discuss philosophy with crystal souls any time, but I feel out of my depth with something like this. You will have to win Lethalis' respect, not mine. Namothil, Firedrake: Both are spy/assassins. Both quite good with swords. Namothil also has some minor magical abilities. IC: 'One thing's certain, I have to fight either to save the ruler or to surplant him, that will show. Politics. Oh, it can't be helped. Let's hope the Nightmares remember to keep contact with me. Or I will have to send Riibu. Now, the messages: Most Revered Sir, I expect to see you at our meeting as planned. Discussion of strategies should wait until then. Do not expose yourself prematurely. The situation is under control. With sincerest respect, Lewis General, the situation is out of hand. We attacked and lost and are probably being spied on. I need your troops now. Renar'thal Interesting. So they are both in it. Though nothing about the imperial ruler - a pity. Well, mmh...Ilofekh may appear again and tell me more, as he most certainly needs all the support he can get. I'm in for a serious fight. So be it.' 'It is all very unclear, very. I'm not even convinced that the letter is adressed to me at all. "ef made a fool of me..." - did I? No, I didn't. Who brought me that letter and who should have been the recipient. Ilofekh in trouble? Maybe. So maybe I win or maybe I die. That's how it is. Though, if I go down, I will try to get my people out. We'll see.' "Well, Riibu dear, it seems you had a good party. Better rest for a while, until you are sober again. Good night to you, my girl and thanks for informing me." 'Another possibility. He had it put here though I'm not the recipient. Informing me that he's ready to sell more than his grandmother or has already done so. Fair warning in that case. And more than I could expect. The question simply is, do I keep a low profile or let Lethalis go on fighting. No, it's not a question. Because I already know, that I will let him go on. For better or worse. That will show.'
