When I started SubTerra the little man collected the emeralds, sure, but when I started the game, in the editor or anywhere else, the level loads and just FREEZES! I'm running it on Windows XP. On my other Windows XP it worked fine, but on this one it refused to. Can anybody help me?

XP often needs added software to be compatible with older games. Maybe your other windows version had such plug-ins installed?

I'm not running XP myself, friends who do told me about this. I could give you the URLs of german sites where I would look, if I searched for such an update. But you won't probably be able to read them. Best option may be to go on the Microsoft site and search there. But please do that only, when you don't have too many cracks on your computer. Otherwise, ask a friend.

I would suggest going to the microsoft site and searching for terms like
XP DirectX.
It is an unfortunate fact that XP is not fully backwards compatible
with other windows versions.

HAHAHAHAHA
I already started a topic about SubTerra not working, and it's directly under this one, at the time of this post. It's called "SubTerra won't work! AAAAHHH!!!!!" Ha.
Anyway, Radiant said he'll be releasing a patch soon.

Try the following solutions:

1. Download DirectX 9 From Microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/directx

2. Set the "Compatibility Options" of the game to "Windows Me."

It sounds complicated. I might do what you suggested, but meanwhile I have Subterra on two more computers. One is Windows XP and it works. The other is Windows 95 (or is it 98? I can never remember) and it works also.

As for The Almighty Doer of Stuff, I didn't think of looking at your post first, I assumed your situation was completely different.
