When I started SubTerra the little man collected the emeralds, sure, but when I started the game, in the editor or anywhere else, the level loads and just FREEZES! I'm running it on Windows XP. I'm not running XP myself, friends who do told me about this. I could give you the URLs of german sites where I would look, if I searched for such an update. But you won't probably be able to read them. Best option may be to go on the Microsoft site and search there. But please do that only, when you don't have too many cracks on your computer. I would suggest going to the microsoft site and searching for terms like XP DirectX. It sounds complicated. I might do what you suggested, but meanwhile I have Subterra on two more computers. One is Windows XP and it works. The other is Windows 95 (or is it 98? I can never remember) and it works also. As for The Almighty Doer of Stuff, I didn't think of looking at your post first, I assumed your situation was completely different.
