Oh, Christ, Alec, everything's drenched in blood. Are you seriously saying that you wouldn't buy a cell phone because it might have a bit of stolen metal in it that feuled a war? Do you buy nothing if it's not made in America with American parts, with no animal testing and a written guarantee that nobody's suffering was caused by the production of the product, indirectly or otherwise? How about, instead of denying money to people who sorely need it just because others might get it, you go to the source of the problem? I doubt that TGM's cell phone is the source. -------------------- And though the musicians would die, the music would live on in the imaginations of all who heard it. -The Last Pendragon TEH CONSPIRACY IZ ALL In case of emergency, break glass. Well, good. Acknowledgement of the problem is the first step to solving it. This reminds me, though - the weather balloon is getting kind of low on fuel. How can we deliver the payload on schedule without propulsion? For that matter, do we have a schedule? -------------------- And though the musicians would die, the music would live on in the imaginations of all who heard it. -The Last Pendragon TEH CONSPIRACY IZ ALL In case of emergency, break glass. Not that I really want to get involved in this, but, FBM, idiocy is not black and white. Everyone's an idiot, sure, but there are shades of grey; quite a dark one, in your case, which is more or less Thuryl's point. I've heard of Beltane, but I didn't really know what it was... I thought spy.there was in Switzerland, not Australia. -------------------- And though the musicians would die, the music would live on in the imaginations of all who heard it. -The Last Pendragon TEH CONSPIRACY IZ ALL In case of emergency, break glass. I'm an animal-lover as well, but not mind-cloudingly so. If culling is the only reasonable alternative, then get on it and stop wasting time. I see what you mean, Stuggie, but here's the thing: koalas aren't human. If you could choose between shooting a hungry koala and shooting a hungry human being, which would you choose? I really hope your answer is not the latter. As Keep said, sterilization never works as well as it should. Let's stick with reasonable alternatives that will actually work. -------------------- And though the musicians would die, the music would live on in the imaginations of all who heard it. -The Last Pendragon TEH CONSPIRACY IZ ALL In case of emergency, break glass. He'll leave his Spiderweb account inactive and take up the fight somewhere else. It's more a question of what diabolical scheme Drakey has up his sleeve. I think I'll sit back and watch too. I'm always open to bribes from either side, of course. -------------------- And though the musicians would die, the music would live on in the imaginations of all who heard it. -The Last Pendragon TEH CONSPIRACY IZ ALL In case of emergency, break glass. Are any of you active members fluent in both English and French? And by fluent I mean Canadian, probably, unless you moved to an English speaking country after getting a good grasp of French, or vice versa. I'd like to practice reading and writing French, partially to help my grade and partially to better learn the language. AIM would be useful, but PMs work too. Help, anyone? -------------------- And though the musicians would die, the music would live on in the imaginations of all who heard it. -The Last Pendragon TEH CONSPIRACY IZ ALL In case of emergency, break glass. I've more or less given up on fantasy. A bit of Terry Pratchet every once in a while, sort of like potato chips, and then I go straight back to historical fiction. It's so much better. -------------------- And though the musicians would die, the music would live on in the imaginations of all who heard it. -The Last Pendragon TEH CONSPIRACY IZ ALL In case of emergency, break glass. So true, Alorael, and not just books. Plenty of WC3 characters are copied from Tolkien, and it's certainly not the only fantasy game like that. Oh well. Please don't kill me for asking, but what's the second? I can only think of the sliths... To emphasize Alorael's point about subconscious memory, I once wrote an entire song before realizing that I had just copied it from something I'd heard years ago. So much for originality... Another example of that would be kibbutz and kibbutzim, Alorael. I now agree with whoever said that this nephilim thing should be added to the FAQ. And that "faq" looks like "fag", especially when underlined. WTF^^ mate? -------------------- And though the musicians would die, the music would live on in the imaginations of all who heard it. -The Last Pendragon TEH CONSPIRACY IZ ALL In case of emergency, break glass. *smacks Slith for obvious reasons* I play piano, drumset, and other percussive instruments (the "other" refering to the drumset, not the piano, so please don't start some kind of string vs percussion argument). Piano for 6 years, percussion for slightly less, drumset... 1/2 or 4 years, depending on whether or not learning the very basic beats at school counts. My favorite composer... hmm... does Howard Shore count? If not, I'll go with Beethoven. And Tchaikovsky and Copland are definitely up there. I really don't know what my favorite piece is. It could be something from Lord of the Rings, or the Moonlight Sonata (not just because of that, Motrax), or Copland's... something western, don't remember the name, or Tchaikovsky's Asian steppes thing (again, I don't remember the name), or something I can't think of. I don't usually have favorites of anything, and I don't mean that in an uplifting, we're-all-one-big-loving-family sort of way. -------------------- And though the musicians would die, the music would live on in the imaginations of all who heard it. -The Last Pendragon TEH CONSPIRACY IZ ALL In case of emergency, break glass.
