You know, MM, you could at least have gone to the trouble of changing your profile. At any rate, impersonation is a major infraction. Knock it off. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

Hmm. Schro says it's 10 endurance, you say it's 8. Aren't there two free points of Endurance you can get from scripted events in the game? Maybe those don't count toward the requirements for special skills. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

Just so you know, the "personality" field doesn't actually seem to do anything at all. As near as we can tell, it only exists to help the designer keep track of who each dialogue node belongs to. The main problem with Hrickis is that at the level you're at when you run into him, it's basically impossible to have decent HP yet, so some of his attacks can wipe out your entire party. If you don't feel like fighting him repeatedly until you get lucky, consider holding off on him and coming back once you've learned Augmentation (which unfortunately isn't available in the demo). -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! It's Genevieve. You may need to talk to her while the shade is away in order to get a useful response. She'll send you to someone else who will send you to someone else who will eventually send you to Khoth's lair. It's fairly unimportant. Completing it allows you to do another equally unimportant quest later in the game. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

It may be on topic for the forum, but saying it's a good topic doesn't make it so. I mean, so far there's only been one post of more than one paragraph in length. Still, we've seen far worse in the past. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

A man walks into a psychiatrist's office. The psychiatrist draws four parallel lines on a piece of paper and asks the patient what it reminds him of. He answers, "A woman's legs". The psychiatrist then draws two wavy lines on another piece of paper, and again asks the patient what it reminds him of. The patient says, "A woman's hips". Finally, the psychiatrist draws a circle on a third piece of paper and again asks the patient what it reminds him of, to which the patient replies "A woman's breast". The psychiatrist raises an eyebrow and says to the patient, "You seem to be preoccupied with sex today." The patient replies, "What? You're the one drawing all the dirty pictures!" Well, it wouldn't be impossible, but it'd be more of a remake than a port. And it'd take an awful lot of grunt work, on the order of months to years. Towns and monsters would have to be redesigned to suit the BoE engine, combat would have to be rebalanced, dialogue would have to be rewritten, and all the scripts would have to be manually redone as nodes. I'd say this falls very much into the not-worth-it basket. If you disagree, well, you can always try to do it yourself, I suppose. By the way, have you tried using the pleaselikeme cheat after travelling a few zones away from the fort, rather than doing it right there in front of the fort? It might require the zone to be reloaded before it takes effect. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |
