The point of it is so that if someone votes for an unpopular candidate, they're not wasting their vote, since the vote will just go on to whoever that candidate prefers rather than being thrown away.

Please tell me she didn't pronounce the L. Salman Rushdie is not amused.

I find it increasingly difficult to produce coherent replies in the face of outrageous stupidity from all sides.

arghhhhhhhhh, don't make topics that suck. Everyone else, don't reply to topics that suck.

See, that's the part I don't buy. A new game almost never does everything an old game did. BoA certainly doesn't do everything BoE did, which is part of the reason why some people still design in BoE.

As for "easier functionality"... well, again, BoE designers have reason to suspect that a new engine won't be easier to work with.

Oh, sure. Just because the way he said it ticked me off, doesn't mean I don't agree with his basic point.

If we thought that more "advanced" games were necessarily better, we wouldn't be playing SW games in the first place, now would we?

I don't know where you got the impression that PCX is the native format for Macs. The native metafile format for Macs pre-OS X is PICT, and post-OS X is PDF. Neither is a particularly great choice for putting images on the web.

This is a bug. Just kill Litalia; it doesn't have any effect on the rest of the game. You'll still get the rebel ending.

No, he means "a good sport". "A good sport" is an English idiom that means roughly "someone who's able to take a joke".

A good pun is its own reword.

I know I've used that one before, but it bears repeating.

The character graphics from the old Avernums are too small and don't have the right poses and animations to work in the new engine.

It's electroplated.

On a more serious note, I would imagine it was probably meant to be "Silvar Sewer Key". :P

I don't think it's actually available anywhere in the demo area. Try Cotra or Fort Avernum.

I think I hit the item cap exactly once in the game, when my entire party was loaded down with loot from a dungeon and I tried to drop everything so I could fight a monster without being encumbered. I didn't lose any items, though; the game just refused to let me drop anything more after a certain point.

Looks like a very useful position if one is capable of it.

That image loads fine when I visit his site.

It doesn't load when I click the link in your post, though, because there's a comma at the end of the link that shouldn't be there. :P
