And if he did, he would probably be permanantly banned.

Breaking a ban with another account is a Very Bad Thing.

I seemed to have missed the big welcome back.

So welcome back anyway.

Just wish I could get my name back though.

Apparently it's a life sentence with no parole. The misterhood has been gone over a year, and on a forum that is pretty much an eternity.

And I hadn't heard that Jeff broke his word on unbanning you earlier. I can only hope that this is because he was completely unable to go online - and not, say, because he found he had Other Things to Do (leaving aside pure spite). Avoiding a ban is a Very Bad Thing, but there is little that beats banning someone and then not finding the time to unban them.

He did not just forget, nor did he break his promise. He was apparently frustrated with something Ash said to him in an e-mail. Still, conditions were put up and Ash was unbanned.

tGM, on the other hand, has stated multiple times that he doesn't want to come back to the boards. It is likely that his ban would expire if he really wished to return, though.

No, he means "a good sport". "A good sport" is an English idiom that means roughly "someone who's able to take a joke".

Then i fear I can't literally translate it to Dutch, as we don't really have such an expression. The thing that comes closest is:

"omdat hij tegen een grapje kan."

That translated back to
quote:
because he is possible against a joke
which sounds a little iffy. I think it would be closer, in context, to assume that being a good sport is akin to participate in something with good humour, even if participation was unwilling or unexpected.

ps. Spelling is humouring D Vlish.

How did you translate it back? i sure hope not that you used a translation machine, and otherwise the one who translated it has no idea of Dutch. That person may know the words, but hasn't been long enough in Holland to know how we say certain things.

:) Welcome back, Ash! That was a surprisingly short ban.
... now we only wait for the un-banning of TM. Remember, that was the guy who tried to support Ash by using another Jeff-quote in his signature.

+_+ oops, I just wish I could get my real name back.

Once again, that's not what he was banned for.

I didn't mean use of the account, I only wondered if all accounts that Ash could use were banned.

There's nothing to stop Ash from posting with The Creator except habit, right? It's not like there was a disavowal or something?

Oh, hell, run for the hills.

Welcome back.. I think.

I would post a more joyous flourish of colour, which would reflect my earlier mood, but at the present moment, I must venture forth to emasculate myself.

Sorry Imban, but that's total bull.

He said I would be unbanned on Monday. I wasn't. That constitutes breaking a promise in my book. And if he was frustrated by something I said in an email, he could have at least informed me that he would be extending the ban because of it. He did not volunteer any such information, and he did not respond (and still hasn't responded) to either of the emails I sent enquiring as to the reason. Yes, I was unbanned eventually, but not by Jeff.

EDIT: Aran, I saw Jeff among the visitors list on the boards several times during that period. I think he might have posted once or twice, too. In other words, absolutely no reason he couldn't unban me. Spite does seem like the most realistic explanation.

I considered using "The Creator", but I wanted to make sure I played by the rules - I don't know how Jeff would act if I gave him a half-decent reason to get aggro.

I think TM's ban expires on March 16th. At least that's what I think Imban said in another thread.

It would certainly be a good change. Things did tend to be more lively around here, when she was around. Though, unfortunately, that might've just been because of the rise of paedophilic jokes. Either way, amusing.

Wasn't there something between Rosycat and TM?

EDIT:Spelling error.

There was something between them but it wasn't quite able to reach all the way to Rosy, try as TM might to convince us otherwise...
