That is definitely one of your worse puns, Salmon. -------------------- The Silent Assassin is still somewhat paranoid about having his picture posted online, so I was forced to put up the normal stand-in. He does actually want to put something up, but thus far, we have no pictures that fit his approval. -------------------- -Lenar Labs What's Your Destiny? I think that this gender confusion means that we're due up for a photo thread. Tully... go ahead and wear that slip. I dare you. ...On second thought, never mind. I don't want us all scarred for life. -------------------- The Silent Assassin believes that happy trees are the most potent method of psychological torture available. That said, I feel obligated to warn you all that he just walked out with a bucket of yellow paint. -------------------- -Lenar Labs What's Your Destiny? I think he means something more like a co-op than an FPS. Something along the lines of Four Swords in gameplay, but set in the isometric and turn-based world of Avernum, if I understand him correctly. -------------------- The Silent Assassin is offended that I forgot to finish this post, and thus I edit it to appease him. I just got over a mild stomach flu, myself. quote:Ah, yes. I remember amoxicillin, for that really bad case of toncilitis a few years back... Suffice to say, the purplish rash that covered my entire body for two days drew a lot of amusing stares. I didn't care. I didn't even know about it until someone at church asked if I had done something to bruise my neck. -------------------- The Silent Assassin is pickling floor mats. Ask not such silly questions as why; the Silent Assassin's plan is always best and is therefore by definition unquestionable. -------------------- -Lenar Labs What's Your Destiny? Useable items are your friends. Heroic brews can do wonders to influence battles, when used properly. If used in conjunction with potions of protection, energy elixirs, and certain scrolls, you can effectively take out any size force with a suitably trained party. There is a trick technique involving line-of-sight that you may also be able to use. This involves getting your party along a wall near a corner, so that you can't see the enemy that you expect to be there, and they can't see you. Casting spells like Beast Ceremony, Battle Frenzy (bless), Haste L3, Arcane Shield, Divine Warrior, etc, becomes a breeze, as your enemy does not know you are there. Once you finish your casting, go into combat (if you haven't done so already) and wait a full round (that's wait, not parry) before rushing the enemy. In my experience, even Grah-Hoth and his minions can't respond fast enough to that. Yes, you will lose a lot of MP, so keep those potions handy and those casters going. Your priest with Dispel Spirit L3 is indespensable in keeping the lesser demons away from your melee fighters. Worst comes to worst, lightning is an effective demonic deterrent. -------------------- The Silent Assassin has gone off to admire the snow. Finally, some peace and quiet. -------------------- -Lenar Labs What's Your Destiny? Ushmushmeifa: Lenar's power is almighty and ineffable. One could also suggest that once you have a handle on what commands are supposed to do, you play through the original scenarios and then read their scripts. It's rather amazing how much you can learn by seeing the script behind the gameplay. -------------------- The Silent Assassin once scripted a snowball fight. Well, when one utilizes three different names... Here goes... Lenar Labs was the devolution of a story idea that I had a while ago (one, incidentally, that I recently picked back up) involving a character named Maxor Lenar, who had a lab. Two out of the three of us involved in LL right now (yes, there are three. the other one isn't interested in BoA) had applied the moniker to random gaming and fanfic ventures for a while, before eventually choosing it to identify ourselves as BoA designers. The third member, who identifies herself as Wulf and primarily does our concept sketching, came later. The characters of Lord Grimm and the Silent Assassin were developed through two entirely independant means: Grimm was originally developed as the antagonist of a short story in which he chased a starfighter pilot who didn't really die (there was a typo in the paperwork). The Silent Assassin was the result of a late night game of parcheesi in which a stalwart team of adventurers competed against "The Not-So-Greatful Undead." All that matters is that the skeleton in the odd helmet had expressive eyes. The two came together because the Silent Assassin thought that they made the perfect odd couple. We ended up using the pseudonyms at about the same time as the Lenar Labs name. And for the benefit of our muffin friend, IQ does not entail wisdom, nor necessarily knowledge. It's spelled "flaming"; stop making a fuss. You don't even have to change it in your moniker, just don't make a big deal out of it. I personally find "flamming" more visually interesting than "flaming". -------------------- The Silent Assassin rather enjoys the part of the Silent Assassin. When else would it be perfectly acceptable to purloin everyday household items and turn them into devices of mass chaos? -------------------- -Lenar Labs What's Your Destiny? Tully: I think that may be the first time that I've agreed with you on anything politically related. I'm scared. Kyrek: Although speculation on Bush's assumed lust for power is at times amusing, one must eventually come to grips with the fact that if he pulled any sort of stunt to get around the two-term limit, he would likely be either impeached or assassinated within a matter of days, and possibly both. And I'm quite sure that even he realizes that. -------------------- The Silent Assassin has aquired control of a local board of education. My first computer used a daisy-wheel printer. My contribution to the memory of things past is that most significant, surprisingly high-quality listening medium that created an entire industry. Let's face it, if you didn't have one of these growing up, you missed out on the greatest experience in technology and music one can possibly have. Kel, between what you and Infernal listed, you've pretty much hit the best.
