Alec: You do realize that once the modern infallability movement began, there was a huge effort made to dig up and translate from the oldest copies of the scriptures available, right? We stopped making copies of copies over a century ago. And oddly enough, it didn't change much.

Why E- I mean, A2, of course.
A plot based in hope and desperation, the novelty of going off into the unknown to save the the world, the chance to trade insults with everyone's favorite witch, and listen to her peers grumble about her behind her back...

But what I think I like the most is that A2 is a story about a bunch of nobodies who take a risk and end up being heroes.
You just can't beat a fulfilling underdog story.

Yeah, Thuryl, I know.
But I like where he got his ideas from.
i.e. scientific observation, as opposed to the traditions and opinions of the scientific community.
Granted, most of his conclusions have been since either debunked or dismissed by general consensus; however, I do firmly believe that we need more people questioning the scientific status quo. Worst case scenario, they're wrong, right?

Kelandon: Thank you for being the voice of reason.

'Tis indeed the question of the ages.

The correct answer is: Play Avernum 4.

However, there are a handful of scenarios out there in which everyone's favorite witch shows up. Which one are you talking about?

The Silent Assassin suggests a handful of snipers at medium range, while the party is busy distracting her with a summoning fest.

I'd devote my life to art. I like architecture, interior and exterior design, a bit of sketching, and music, of course.
As a main profession, I'd stick with storytelling. Storytelling is itself an art, and combined with other forms of art.
Like film. Radio. BoA.

um... that is a picture of a talking spider, taken from Exile: Escape from the Pit.
What I assume that you think are his nostrils are actually his eyes...
I had considered taking from the talking spiders in Avernum, but they really don't fit into the design I had come up with as easily (as it mimics an early version of the Spiderweb logo).

Alas, I shall indeed miss poor Endeavorbot.

I feel that I should add, for posterity, that the only time I have ever looked forward to stats in my thirteen+ months here was the November release, at the end of the spamfest. All other times, I merely found it a novelty to measure my involvement in relation to the rest of the boards.

...

I now wonder if the oldbie generation is defined by what has been left behind...

I dunno.
Seeing as I found the end of stats and the end of the DikiFic within the same night, I suppose that it's finally hit me that we are still a new generation, and that we need to find something to define ourselves.

Huh. I feel all somber all of the sudden.

I suppose I will begin anew my efforts on the Lore of Ermarian.
Because the EE will probably be one of the potentially greatest things that this community has come up with.
And turtles, of course.

Thuryl: I suppose I stand corrected with the bad analogy.
To clarify: those who hold the "I'm not responsible" view deserve the same consequenses as those who do not, regardless of the offense.
I chose the Nazis as an extreme and generally well-known example. To further clarify my wording, I probably should have said "stereotypical" instead of "average".
Thanks for pointing that out.

Okay, new round...
Let's try some new ideas:

By popular request, I have an allusion to everyone's favorite fan-based pasttime.
I figure, we could stick a whole cartoon on, if we wanted.
IMAGE(http://photos-775.ak.facebook.com/ip002/v63/66/76/141300885/n141300885_30550775_3195.jpg)

Another game item, one that I expect will be very popular.
IMAGE(http://photos-776.ak.facebook.com/ip002/v63/66/76/141300885/n141300885_30550776_3343.jpg)

I decided that it might be worth pursuing another Xian Skull design. Still needs work.
IMAGE(http://photos-777.ak.facebook.com/ip002/v63/66/76/141300885/n141300885_30550777_3480.jpg)

This one, I think, may come off as confusing.
IMAGE(http://photos-778.ak.facebook.com/ip002/v63/66/76/141300885/n141300885_30550778_3610.jpg)

And my first attempt at Geneforge:
IMAGE(http://photos-779.ak.facebook.com/ip002/v63/66/76/141300885/n141300885_30550779_8284.jpg)
