Dear Lord, you're all starting to sound like Sicarius... So what is all this about Vlish and fires, anyway? I must confess, I don't get it and I want in. EDIT: I think that this was post 400. Moving up in the world. -------------------- The Silent Assassin has now sent his third e-mail, asking why I haven't picked him up from the airport and why the phone line is disconnected. The stopwatch has been activated. His current record for a bunker break-in is five hours, twenty-two minutes, and 15.72 seconds from the sending of the third e-mail. I'll be impressed if it takes him less than twelve with this scenario. :D [ Saturday, November 11, 2006 23:43: Message edited by: They Call Me... A lowly Priest of an Optimist-Type Religion. Nioca: We both try to, or at least the funnier ones; but have only done so for ourselves. I may put an archive in The Library, since you've brought that up. I myself also tend to keep the player on random. And since Kel brought up his most vivid memory of random music... The instant I killed Vahkohs for the for the first (final) time in DwtD, my player brought up the song "Dragostea Din Tei" by O-Zone. Those familiar with the title should appreciate the sick irony. -------------------- The Silent Assassin is late, of course. I've found that some slower-paced music can actually be quite good for the Avernum outdoors and small caves, though it varies from song to song and where one is in the plot. -------------------- The Silent Assassin should be flying in from San Diego sometime tonight, if he actually sticks to his itinerary. You do not go behind any major gates, especially the theives guid smuggling gate, and cannot leave Blackcrag though conventional means. Your surface exploration is limited entirely to Valorim, and you cannot venture any farther north than Blackcrag, even though there appears to be area farther north on the map. And we have a large quantity of Aussies on this board. Calm down. -------------------- The Silent Assassin should be home sometime tonight. Just enough time to replace all of the locks, reset the key panels, and put the bunker into lockdown. :D -------------------- -Lenar Labs What's Your Destiny? I couldn't help but notice that Naomi has posted more than once... I would, of course, actually look up what her other posts were, but I feel that remaining clueless may help the thread wander in a less nationalist direction... -------------------- The Silent Assassin believes that wandering is the birth canal of genius. Once, to make this point, he had the bunker's locks and keypads changed, and then put the entire building into lockdown. IF and only if you need more XP testers, I can try to help. Name: The Impeccable Lord Grimm (feel free to insert my undisclosed but easily found real name in there however you see fit) Platform: Win XP SP2 Email: I thwart spammers by telling you you already have it. Past BoA Experience: I was a pseudo-part of Thralni's beta until my power supply died, and then I never quite caught up. I am currently playing around with the Dialogue editor conversion. I am slowly designing my own scenario, and enjoy tinkering with copies of Jeff's scripts to make the presentation personally amusing. I understand and can perform scripting, graphic design, and map design, am a continuity nazi, and am not afraid to point something out if I think it's wrong. Misc. Experience: I walked around in public covered in red paint dust every weekday for a whole summer. I have lab experience in blowing things up. I write fanfic when I'm bored in class. Are you Imban? Is this a requirement? Would I be here if I were not Imban? And who doesn't want more posts, anyway? Good point. NOTE: I am about to hit a crunch session in my filmmaking class and may be unavailable for a few days at a time, starting next week and lasting through the second week of December. If you need me to blitz through this, then I am not the kind of person that you are looking for. I prefer a slow, intensive analysis, taking notes and comparing them. My favorite genre of film is sci-fi/comedy. I enjoy good books and long walks on the beach. -------------------- The Silent Assassin sends greetings from a podunk farming community in Michigan, where he is overnighting after stirring up mayhem with pidgeons, paintballs, and chunky tuna in downtown Lansing. He tells me that he may write a book on the espianage-benevolant qualities of chunky tuna. Or at least, a short essay. -------------------- -Lenar Labs What's Your Destiny? quote:Left, hard, and possibly blindly, if my personal perception is correct. Then again, I live in the state where the campaign slogan of the guy who won the gubernatorial race was essentially "Ohio Sucks: Vote for Me," so I could be skewed just a little bit. Not that I think things are going the wrong way, nationally. We've needed a fresh perspective on running things for years. I can pinpoint very little wrong with conservative values and policies, only conservatives: as Kel said, the right wing has become obsessed with preserving its ideology. However, even though I can also not pinpoint much wrong with the American Liberal approach, the left wing seems to be clinging to the ideology of becoming the polar opposite of the right wing. That's why I think this swing to the left is blind: everyone knows that current policies are failing, and everyone knows that the party that was until Tuesday not in control has completely different ideas than the party that was in control. I suppose I say that the nation is blind because I myself feel blind. Ignorance is the source of my politcal fears. Neither "party" helps this part of my cause: the right intentionally keeps me in the dark, while the left stays cryptic so as to not make promises it can't keep. When no one has made any ground, the party who hasn't fallen out of favor wins. Hmm. Left wing and right wing. Both wings comprised of people who have decided that the other side is too obsessed with ideals to actually be of any worth. It's a wonder we get anything done anymore. -------------------- The Silent Assassin is off on Cram Time. I suppose that I shall get the first e-mail or postcard tomorrow. In the meantime... I shall enjoy the peace around here. Until the cat wakes up, anyay. -------------------- -Lenar Labs What's Your Destiny? Ushmushmeifa: Lenar's power is almighty and ineffable. :) -------------------- The Silent Assassin is currently going through all of the job offers that an election day normally brings. Grimm has an epiphany: A lack of aggression does not a pacifist make.A pacifist does not a weakling make.Far too many weaklings try to compensate by becoming aggressive. That said, aggression does not a weakling make.Conlusion: What is the point of starting an armed conflict in modern society, aside from territorial or political pursuit? Must one make war simply because they are brave or strong? Or must one make war because the other person is wrong? Like it or not, Tully, you'll find that most of the people here will firmly defend what they believe to be true, and occasionally, through (mostly) rational argument, attempt to convince others to agree with them. We don't assault other people's class, religion, race, ideology because we have no need to and we respect their right to what they have. Now, many of us like to intellectually challenge others (and one particular unmentioned party prefers to outright decry anything he disagrees with), but that isn't a war. Why kill when you can reform and cause true change of heart? Why not defend what you hold dear and know why you hold dear? Why not try to cause change when you can? Everyone knows that the world needs change. No one can agree on what that change is. Me, I'm not an aggressive person. I prefer to manipulate than destroy. Because destoying something undermines its usefulness. Sometimes, however, there is no other alternative. I will fight when the need arises. Make no mistake of that. EDIT: Added an addendum to the epiphany. -------------------- The Silent Assassin would like to (mis)quote Ash Lael's sig from a while ago. Violence is not the answer. Violence is the question. The answer is Yes. [ Monday, November 06, 2006 13:39: Message edited by: Lenar Labs ] -------------------- -Lenar Labs What's Your Destiny? Ushmushmeifa: Lenar's power is almighty and ineffable. 1) Cedarville University, a small school in the middle of nowhere, in the middle of nowhere, in the middle of nowhere. 2) Sorta. I would have preferred to go in state (Rutgers offered me 85% of tuition in Scholarships, and Rowan offered me full-ride), but there are no schools of repute in New Jersey offering a comprehensive BA in electronic media. So, of viable options, it was my first choice. 3) In retrospect, definitely no. 4) If both the Democrats and the Republicans keep going the way that they respectively are...
