There has yet to be any solid snowfall in either Ohio or New Jersey this season. This is my girlfriend's house (in NJ) in late January of this past year. Pretty, no? -------------------- The Silent Assassin does rather enjoy falling snow. Saw it, about two weeks ago. Those going in should be warned that they took a 60's story and set it in modern day. This is not supposed to look like Goldfinger or anything else with which the movie crowd is familiar. Realizing this, I loved it. Call it a neo-Bond approach, call it a miss attempt at classic Bond, call it whatever: it's a fresh look at a familiar set of characters in a well-produced, well-directed, mostly solid film. Craig is no Connery, true. Not even Brosnan hit that level. On the other hand, unlike his predecessors, he doesn't try to be like Connery, and the approach that he's taken appears to work. -------------------- The Silent Assassin has gone and done something to our laundry room. My first-play team takes four of the names of the PCs from the second two Exile games... as well as are the main Characters in my Fanfic. Jenneke, Thissa, Adrianna, and Michael (all of whom were custom-classed to fit the character), to be specific. My latest team is meant to take on a scenario evaluation challenge that I've put myself up to (see link below, scenario rating section), and is comprised of Hasskaa, Claire, Hrrmrrrr, and Tullin. My god party is comprised of Sicarius and Grimm. I've also used names like Darrin, Maxor, Joven, Barbera, Kolx, Melbie, Dyde, Cyrn, and various others over the years. NPCs... of course, I make up my own names... Though I have been tempted to throw a couple of enemies into the ranks... -------------------- The Silent Assassin's party is made up of Grimm, Muerte, Mors Mortis, and Phil. I think he has some sort of death wish for our next door neighbor. -------------------- -Lenar Labs What's Your Destiny? Ushmushmeifa: Lenar's power is almighty and ineffable. Len-ARR Labs That'll teach all you "Lenner" types. Thus far, the only name I've been pronouncing incorrectly is Kel's... putting the emphasis on the first syllable. -------------------- The Silent Assassin has never pronounced any of your names correctly. Or worse, two hallmates from Detroit. A late Happy Thanksgiving to you all. Break was good, the drive was hell... and Ohio is still the same old rotten Ohio. -------------------- The Silent Assassin wants to try to remove Ohio from the map, but is at a loss for what to replace it with. His best suggestion thus far has been the state of "Chaos", but I believe that this is absolutely no change from the current situation. -------------------- -Lenar Labs What's Your Destiny? You know, that music topic in the Avernum Trilogy forum got me thinking... I listen to music when I play... But I also listen to music when I work on design. And really thinking about it, I've realized that I've come to associate a specific song or style of music with the different projects that I've done. In fact, I've realized that I find it difficult to work on a project without having assigned some form of unofficial theme to it. This begs the question, of course... am I alone in this little habit? So do any of you assign unofficial themes to your work? (Or, as an alternate question) If you could assign an unofficial theme to any of your scenarios, what would it be, and why? -------------------- The Silent Assassin believes that potpourri has the potential for remedying any mistakes that he makes on the field. Me, I bought it to remedy a mistake made in the kitchen. -------------------- -Lenar Labs What's Your Destiny? Ushmushmeifa: Lenar's power is almighty and ineffable. Philosopher. But I may be giving myself too much credit. How about... "Idealist Philosopher"? Alo is either Royalty or a Godfather due to his revered status, probably Royalty because he actually gets his hands dirty. But he posts far too often to be an Ent. DV is... well, DV. Avatars would make life interesting. What would be really nice would be if we could choose a personal option as to whether or not said avatars would be visible, to help those with dial-up. Something more stable along the lines of board software would be nice, though I have no idea where to go with that. HTML support seems to have its advantages, however, even the slightest amount of thinking in that regard leads to the conclusion that its abuse will lead to more problems than conveniences. Personally, I could care less about a PM utility. I get IMed and e-mailed more often than I get PMed. -------------------- The Silent Assassin made it in in seven hours and sixteen minutes flat. I realize that I'm a bit of a stranger in this forum, but the name of this post was too irrisistable. Um, listen. We don't take fondly to game hacks around here... Seeing as the author of said games is a passively active member of these forums...
