Dikiyoba doesn't get it. How is Dikiyoba's cult evil? It did nothing but hide in the shadows, prevent a noob from running amok on these boards, and burn spam in an attempt to keep the ice age of post counts away. Those are all noble goals.

Since they are so small, they must have proportional sized brains (they are not to be confused with midgets, who have small bodies but normal sized heads).
Brain size has very little to do with intelligence.

And midgets are proportionate to regular humans, just smaller.

They are very greedy, having the audacity to charge you for their services. Here you are trying to save the world, and they put their own interests first.
So do most of the humans. Human merchants still charge you for items. You have to pay humans to get training in skills, spells, and shaping. They make you perform quests before they will help you.

Dikiyoba wonders if Emperor Tullegolar rules a country comprised entirely of oppressed midgets. It would explain a lot.

Well, I tried to do a test, but there was definitely something else going on.

I killed the three nephil guarding the bridge by Fort Monastery, and the four nephil and one nephil archer in the camp that the guards run to for my test. For the first three rounds, it was a party of four with no luck. For the next three rounds, it was a party of four and everyone had 1 luck. For the next round (it was going to be three rounds again, but I got tired), it was a party of four and everyone had 5 luck. I saved and reloaded right in front of the bridge every time.

For 6 of the 7 rounds, I got exactly the same thing: 20 coins, 2 leather armors, 2 cavewood bows, and a bronze shortsword. The three nephil guarding the bridge never dropped anything and the archer always dropped a bow and the shortsword. The one round that was different only had 15 coins and 3 cavewood bows, but I believe this was probably my mistake--the coins are easy to overlook and I killed the archer around items that were scattered on the ground. (The different one came from the second round.)

So luck had no affect during the test. Neither did walking to different zones and coming back. However, I never did go far enough away to get an autosave. So, basically, I'm left wondering when the drop rate is calculated for the creatures in a given area, because getting the same items (practically) every time is odd.

Useless Thread

You began life with a purpose.
Alas, your time was short.
People just didn't know when to stop
And now you're on life support.
What to do now but
Abort! Abort! Abort!

Your last posts are nothing but spam
And I read them with a sigh.
Could we make you useful again?
Well, we could try.
But, honestly, I'd rather watch you
Die! Die! Die!

You forgot the "Most Likely to Take Over the World" category. I shall answer that one last.

In order, Dikiyoba's answers are: the Richard White Cult, Alorael, "Dintiraden", advertising spambots, Imban (because everyone is evil and everyone is also Imban), and someone who we would never suspect.

Because my moral beliefs compel me to treat humans and beings of similar mental and emotional abilities with decency.

Unless, of course, they are evil beings intent on harming decent beings and with lots of treasure. Those beings must be ruthlessly slain and looted of all valuables.

I feel that Trajkov was one of the sucess stories, actually. He took all the power the Geneforge could give him while still managing to hold onto his sanity. Then he went and destroyed the Shaper empire and built his own in their place. It probably wasn't an empire much better than the Shapers (if at all), but it was a lot better than the death and destruction your character or Goettsch caused after they used the Geneforge.

Edit: Found Goettsch's name and fixed quote.

In G1, I prefer the Obeyers. The character I play there has a loyal, practical personality and wouldn't stand for Takers and their war and he wouldn't side with the Awakened because they have so little power to accomplish anything. But the Obeyers are loyal and fairly sensible.

In G2, I usually ally with the Awakened. The character I play with there is interested in power, open to new ideas, and still ethical, so the Awakened provide a balance between power, freedom for serviles, and not harming too many innocents.

Dikiyoba hasn't played G3 yet, so no opinions there.

But Dikiyoba can't complain too loudly, because Dikiyoba doesn't have anything new to contribute either. Two fanfic scripts and a drawing of a slime beast is currently the limit of Dikiyoba's artistic talent.

Well, you could say that Jeff seems to be running out of ideas, given that A3 and A4 have such a similar plot. But they have different gameplay from each other, which is what Fenwik seems to care about. (You could always buy Nethergate instead of A3 or A4 though.)

And Dikiyoba doesn't think that Nioca counts as proof if Nioca's birthday is hidden. :P

I generally dislike dinosaur movies, and so I only watched it because I was with a group, and not because I wanted to see it. There is one satisfying feature about the movie, though. (I imagine that it's the same in the book, but some things are better as visuals.) Do you know who the first person to die in that movie is? *cough*Eddie Carr*cough*

While it would be both amusing and interesting to have a Spiderweb convention, there are a few problems with it. We could probably deal with getting finances and getting enough people to show up, but not with the casualties. For instance, Nicothodes would stab people that think she's cute, TM would kill people because they suck, Ephesos wouldn't pass up a chance to cast RETRIBUTION!!! on noobs, and having Alorael in the area would make it impossible to walk around the convention safely. There would be multiple cults that would probably start a massive holy war. All the people bent on taking over the world would be in the same spot, so the world would be under their control within an hour. And when discussions get out of hand, there would be no way to stop them and it would turn into a riot.

So Dikiyoba isn't too excited about the idea.

Thought enruling this could have it's own problems, naturally. There are people who at first don't seem mad, but are mad.
Especially since the effects of the canisters often take some time to develop, and no one knows which canister will finally drive them to madness. People occasionally post to ask how many canisters they can take before it affects their ending. In real life, you can't get that sort of guarantee.

As some of you may remember, Slartucker willed me the "stupid, pointless, but nonetheless incisive analogies" when he left. So I've put together a set of comparisons. The fact that the title of this topic is a variation on Walking with Dinosaurs should tell you what this set of analogies is about: dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures of the Mesozoic Era.

Obviously, I couldn't do everyone. But if you can think of a dinosaur that you or someone else should have and have a good reason for it, I'll gladly add it to the list.

Slartucker -- Segnosaurus
Segnosaurus was a rather peculiar dinosaur, and Slartucker is a rather peculiar person. As an herbivorous theropod, it makes for interesting classification, just like Slartucker made categorizing Spiderwebbers interesting. And for some inexplicable reason, it reminds me of a cow.

Jumpin' Salmon -- Baryonyx
Based on its crocodile-like jaws, large number of teeth, and large claw on each hand, paleontologists believe that Baryonyx was the fisherman of the dinosaurs.

Saunders -- Pteranodon
Like a Pteranodon soaring boldly above all the land creatures, Saunders stays above the fray at Spiderweb and fears nothing.

Lenar Labs -- Velociraptor and Deinonychus
Deinonychus and Velociraptor are two closely related dinosaurs. In fact, in the entire Jurassic Park series, the two species are essentially combined into one creature. In The Lost World: Jurassic Park, a pack of these creatures ambush the expedition, silently killing many of them in a such a way that it seems less like hunting and more like assassination.

Alorael -- Allosaurus
Allosaurus was exceedingly numerous, just like Alorael's posts. Like Alorael, it has many names attached to it--Antrodemus, Apatodon, Creosaurus, Epanterias, Labrosaurus, Poekilopleuron, and a few others. Also, Allosaurus means "different lizard," and Alorael is certainly different.

Tyranicus -- Tyrannosaurus
There is a noted similarity between the two names. But the similarities run a little deeper than that. The large, lumbering Tyrannosaurus was king of the dinosaurs and the overweight Tyranicus is the ruler of the Spiderweb chats.

Arancaytar -- Triceratops
Triceratops must have been the Big Brother of the prehistoric world, because twice in my life, I have seen robotic Triceratops that seemed like they were watching me.

Ephesos -- Weta
Ephesos likes giant intelligent friendly talking roaches and crickets. Both cockroaches and crickets evolved before the Mesozoic Era. However, the weta looks like a cross between a cricket and giant cockroach. Plus, as a living fossil, there's no need to worry about it coming back as undead.

Synergy -- Stenonychosaurus
S is for Synergy and for his speculation and his search for deeper meanings. S is also for Stenonychosaurus (now technically Troodon), which Dale Russell speculated might have evolved into a dinosauroid intelligent enough to search for those deeper meanings had it not gone extinct.

Alec -- Hadrosaurus
With Alec's belligerent attitude towards others, what better dinosaur for him to have than Hadrosaurus, since its discovery eventually led to the Bone Wars between Edward Drinker Cope and Othniel Charles Marsh? The Bone Wars are as well-known for the personal attacks and all-around nastiness as they are for the fossils.

MagmaDragoon -- Wannanosaurus
When I first saw this name, the words "wanna know" jumped out at me, making it perfect for the inquisitive MagmaDragoon and his constant questions.

Delicious Vlish -- Megazostrodon
Delicious Vlish likes to point out that vlish are mammals, so he gets to be what was possibly the first one. Better yet, Megazostrodon was a tiny, shrew-like creature that small theropods probably found to be quite delicious.

Nicothodes -- Compsognathus
Nicothodes is cute, clearly has many friends, and people who think she is cute tend to die slow and painful deaths. In The Lost World: Jurassic Park, someone is fooled into thinking that a lone, cute Compsognathus is harmless. That's when the rest of the pack attacks and kills him slowly and painfully.

Thralni -- Archaeopteryx
Thralni is obsessed with chickens and has a strong interest in flight. Although Archaeopteryx wasn't quite the size of a chicken, this very early bird was capable of flight.

Dintiradan -- Albertosaurus
Sure, Tyrannosaurus may have ruled most of western North America. But Albertosaurus ruled part of what is now Alberta. Also, there is some evidence that Albertosaurus traveled in packs. Coming across a pack of Albertosaurus would be truly terrifying indeed.

Spring -- Hypsilophodon
The Hypsilophodon is a very springy dinosaur. When it was first discovered, it was drawn incorrectly, leading paleontologists to believe that it lived in trees and hopped among the branches. In DinoPark Tycoon, Hypsilophodon does absolutely nothing but jump up and down.

Zeviz -- Megalosaurus
I must give credit where credit is due. Zeviz was the first to look over all of these descriptions and provide feedback on them, before I was certain I would actually create this thread. Therefore, he gets to be Megalosaurus, the first dinosaur to be described--in 1824, before the term dinosaur had even been coined.

Dikiyoba -- Saurolophus
Saurolophus fossils are frequently found in Mongolia, just like Dikiyoba frequently posts here. Ducky, a Saurolophus from The Land Before Time, has a distinctive speech gimmick and had the incorrect gender listed at Wikipedia for a while. Plus, since Dikiyoba is wearing a baseball cap in all photos, it's only fair that Dikiyoba be a hadrosaurid, or duck-billed dinosaur.
