That isn't the next line of the song! And this forum is gone. Two weeks from tomorrow, you'll realize we've been posting in the Exile Trilogy Forum this whole time.

More seriously, these boards are on Pacific time, so if you want to know what time it is in Seattle, just look at the timestamp on your post.

Riibu's Geneforge maps. You may have to do a bit of looking, but it's there.

The control rod is in the South Workshop (the zone that does all the poison damage). Talk to the shade of Corata to find out where it is.

Why are all the twenty-somethings lumped together while the teenage years are all spread out?

Dikiyoba still has several months until Dikiyoba turns twenty, but it's okay for Dikiyoba to start complaining early, right?

Yes, the emerald chestguard was an artifact in G2.

I don't favor one crafting system over the other. G2's system meant that I didn't have to worry about remembering the recipes. G4 lets me enchant equipment, but not many of the effects seem worthwhile (and I didn't even bother with crystals and wands).

Did G1 even have any forging besides the crystals/wands in the mines?

No, that's not the end. The exit fight is timed, so you'll be killed if you take too long to win the fight and escape. Do you have a saved game that would allow you to retry that fight?

But, for better or worse, these forums are no longer the same as they were in "your" day and they are unlikely to go back to the way they were, so you might as well get with the times.

I don't know about actual 10 year-olds, but we definitely have a few who are 12 or 13. But we have many who are older than 20, so the age range is actually wider than 10 years.

You can't place an item into an area. The only way to add an item into the game is to edit the scripts so the item gets added directly to your inventory.

If we're talking Windows, then the saved games and registration settings are located in My Documents instead of with the rest of the files, I think to make it run better on Vista.

It could be about how the forums are falling apart...
Ideas are not the limiting factor in episode production. Time and motivation are. And you can't give me more time or give me more motivation, so please stop talking about it. I know you and Nalyd really want to see Episode 4, but I'm afraid that's just not going to happen.

Oh, and Nikki, what's the point of changing your PDN if you never post for people to see it, you sorry excuse for a cucumber? :P

Heh. I collected all the pillows I could and took them to the rakshasi's lair near Fort Remote in A2. Scatter a few magical items around and you've got a good spot for retiring adventures.

Dikiyoba has really only played with fire creations so far. A diverse pack of them seems to do a good job against everything but boss-type golems.

[GF2] Questions about training, powergaming factions and Shapers in general. in Geneforge Series

No. You can buy two levels from Trainer A and none from Trainer B, or two levels from Trainer B and none from Trainer A, or one level from each, but you can only ever train two levels.

quote:
Finally I am still a bit confused as to how best to powergame the factions - it's all a bit frustrating.
The only advice I can give you is this section from Schrodinger's walkthrough:

quote:
Q: Can I join multiple sects?
A: I believe so. I've been able to go from Takers to Servants without any problem, so I believe you can do the same. I believe you could milk almost all of the sects of their good items if you don't complete their quests. Join the Awakened first, and get modified to use their potent magic, but don't do the Radiant college quest. Then join the Barzites, get all of their creations and canisters, and finish up as the Takers. Finally, try the unaligned route by killing everything that moves. You'll be quite powerful at the end of all of this.

Q: How do I powergame the sects?
A: First join the Servants. This is fairly easy with only 6 leadership. You'll get a number of decent creations from this, in addition to some high level spells. Then join the Awakened (praise some of the serviles or do their quests) and get altered to get the highest level spells, but don't do their Radiant College quest. Next join the Barzites (either by insulting serviles or Learned Darian. Get their canisters and train at the Radiant college, but stop before offending the Takers. Then join the Takers (if possible). Get their canisters. This is all hypothetical, but might be possible.
Dikiyoba hopes that is useful for you.

Well, I tried to answer in your other thread but I think UBB ate it, so here goes again.

Try entering combat mode. Dikiyoba thinks that will fix it.

Mesoh-Sandros mine in Geneforge 4: Rebellion

I must save Mesoh in the bunker, but he attacks me, and when he does, i can't kill him because of his great regeneration.
If you run north, the door there will open up. There is a control panel past that door that will prevent Moseh from regenerating. After setting that, return to Moseh. He will still be hostile and you will still have to fight him, but if you have either Shaftoe or Eliza helping you and you told Moseh that, you will get a chance to help him after beating him up a bit.

quote:
My 2nd problem is Sandros mine, there is an undead which has also a good regeneration and i can't kill him either, any idea? (i'm the battle (strong) and shaping (average) character)
The shade by the anvil? There are four spiral pylons that heal him. Haste yourself and sneak past the shade in combat mode to turn them all off before fighting the shade and that will prevent him from regenerating.

Dikiyoba would need the name of the zone in order to answer the third question.

What is the deal with batons anyway? Somewhere it says that they are can be a powerful weapon in the hands of a well trained guardian, but I have always found melee(spelling?) weapons to be much better; they are even better than the reaper baton to me! Batons may be nice, but they really do need more depth, like the stat boost already mentioned.
Delicious Vlish is the one who likes to pump dexterity and missile weapons to use batons.

Dikiyoba likes them too, actually. Dikiyoba didn't really use them in the previous games but Dikiyoba uses them a lot in G4. By the endgame, they do a fair amount of damage even without too much put into dexterity and missile weapons, and sometimes not making yourself a target is well worth the reduced damage.
