The melee creations in Geneforge behave the same way. So maybe the AI was just copied from Geneforge.

I know an 18 year old who still uses l337 to talk to me via email. Although whether or not he's doing that to be annoying is unknown...

I think the age of people who commonly use annoying and difficult abbreviations and slang to communicate electronically is way above twelve. People get in the habit of doing so and will do it until the habit is slapped out of them by college, work, or being banned from forums by angry moderators.

Harry Potter gets the Firebolt at the very, very end of the third movie. It's the last thing that happens in the movie. That's the problem with editing and cutting. It leaves holes in the story. We see Harry play one Quidditch game in the third movie, then nothing. But in the book, winning the Quidditch cup is a huge part of the plot. If Harry doesn't get his broom until the end of the movie, how does he play the other Quidditch games?

Dikiyoba.

Edit: Quidditch has two d's.

Kingdom of Loathing is great, full of the wackiness and hidden references which I crave. Unfortunately, the forums aren't nearly as good. The obsession with hiding "spoilers" makes posts almost impossible to follow and destroys the chance for any serious discussion. Thank goodness the SW forum isn't like that. But really, anyone who like KoL can't complain about Runescapes's graphics. KoL's graphics are black and white stick figures.

Dikiyoba.

Edit: Dikiyoba changed Dikiyoba's mind. Any stick figure graphics that don't depict pointless violence, puddles of blood, mutilation, or death are fine art.

This year is already better than last year. Last year I awoke at midnight with a headache because my neighbors were shooting off fireworks. I couldn't go back to sleep until one because of the light, sound, and the throbbing pain. This year, I'm watching a great (if thoroughly stupid) movie with popcorn and soda.

With that, Dikiyoba wishes everyone a happy New Year and all other such great stuff.

I think the Orb of Thralni quest (rescuing it from bandits, right?) either happens randomly or happens after you deal the cockroach infestation or something else late in the demo, because I know I got it in the demo without have to wait 160 days. It felt odd to get it so early in the game.

Dikiyoba is working off of memory here and could be wrong.

Since a guardian nornally has little skill points and equipments to boost your creations, a vlish will have difficulty even to hit its opponents. But if I were you, my guardian would use no creation at all.
I think Jaid was refering to the slow attack of a regular vlish, the terror attack of terror vlish, and poison damage from the melee attack. Jaid does have seven vlish and seven creations of any type can probably do serious damage. Well, maybe not fyoras or thahds.

I personally find that vlish are excellent back-up creations. If I have trouble tackling a specific fight, two or three vlish hanging back to slow/terrify enemies while my guardian is up front and absorbing damage is very useful. Since they are only temporary, all that is needed is a bare minimum of essence for blessings and healing. The vlish can be reabsorbed right after the fight. Or, since they take experience from you, I attack them and get experience for killing them.

Zucchini and pumpkins are actually varieties of the same species (Cucurbita pepo) according to my dictionary, so no problems interbreeding there.

Hmm. I've usually been able to clear the zone just by walking through it. That is, I enter from one side and leave by the other. You shouldn't need to kill Ezog to clear it, because the Takers eventually give you a quest to kill Demel and free Ezog and the others.

Because that would be really, really confusing, as opposed to confusing.

Seriously, Dikiyoba is getting tired of this "why third-person?" discussion. And Dikiyoba still can't understand why talking in third person is so odd. Do you have to be a moderator to do odd things without comment?

Edit: Grammer.

Because Dikiyoba can!

Sorry. That was just too tempting to resist. Actually, Dikiyoba wonders why people find it so odd. It doesn't seem too odd to Dikiyoba. Dikiyoba comes from a place where using third person for oneself is a rather common.

It must have been E1/A1, since I've played A2. Try Bahssikava for BoA. The whole scenario is Slith history. As for my "theory," it wasn't intended to be serious. Seriously.

Hmm. I believe Alorael described people who do that for him as "minions." In the best sense of the word, of course.

I want a minion.
All I have are Uruk-haiku.
And they are worthless.

Where Dikiyoba is from, it is highly regarded to refer to oneself in third person. Or even in second-person. But second-person is too difficult to manage in a forum, so Dikiyoba uses third person.

Depending on the scenario, god-parties can still be in serious trouble. Nephilim Mystery comes to mind. I'm not saying Nephilim Mystery is good, mind you, I'm just saying that even a god-party can have trouble with that scenario.
A HLPM god-party would have no trouble winning that scenario. A demigod-party that got there by working their way through every previous scenario definitely has the work cut out for them. The problem with god parties is that nothing can hit them, not even a 100-level monster with an obscene amount of strength and dexterity. I tried to make a god-party scenario but it was merely obnoxious, not challenging. The only thing I know of that can damage a god-party is "darkness." Scripting would probably work, but I don't have the patience for that.

Dikiyoba finds god parties very useful. They test Dikiyoba's partially-completed scenarios, and downloaded scenarios to make sure they are worth playing with a proper party.

Dikiyoba hasn't seen HP4 yet; suspects it will be good but nowhere near as good as the book. HP5 stands a really good chance of being about the same in the book and movie. HP5 was just a filler between 4 and 7, so any changes in the movie to make it more exciting is fine by Dikiyoba, who gives the book's plot a rating as high as others have been giving to A4's plot. HP6 isn't as good as HP4, arguably the best one out there, but at least it has a worthwhile plot. Dikiyoba is really hoping HP7 is worthwhile...

Sounds an awful like the Vahnatai...

While such bias is predictable, it is also curiously unimaginative and almost certain to be proven wrong should human beings encounter extraterrestrials.
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy's most imaginative alien: an intelligent shade of blue.

Ah, cells. The biggest factor concerning whether something is alive or not is if it is composed of a cell (most of life on Earth)or multiple cells. Under this definition, viruses technically aren't alive. Whether alien lifeforms are composed of cells or not is unknowm. The task is made harder by the fact that some crystal formations can look like fossilized cells. Fossilized cells proving life on Mars and a second example of life beginning on Earth had to be thrown out because they were later proven to be crystals.

Dikiyoba feels outnumbered by all the little single-celled life forms just in Dikiyoba's house. Good thing most of them are friendly or harmless.

I know there are songflutes, which are almost exactly like recorders but (I think) they're smaller. They sound almost as bad when played by a mass of grade school children, though.

Dikiyoba didn't mind playing the recorder, it was being in the same room as the music teacher that was the problem. *Shudder* Some people do not have the proper temperament to work with small children.

I just downloaded the A2 Template. I feel like I'm home! It's so nice to wander around in old adventuring grounds again! I haven't gotten very far, just around the A2 Tower of Magi and outside of Mertis.

However, I did find a bug. My characters are in the outermost hall of the A2 Tower of Magi, traveling west. As they reach the westernmost turn in the hallway to go north or south, my characters suddenly get taken outside, straight into the middle of a pillar. This is a problem. I went to the editor and adjusted the town boundary. When I went back to the tower to try again, I got the same result, even though my characters are a few spaces away from the town boundary. Anyone have any ideas?

Help! Dikiyoba is stuck in the middle of a pillar and can't move. Anyone have a shattering crystal?
