Sometimes there are just random, unexplainable bugs. I have two spots with unexplainable error messages in Bahssikava, despite re-downloading and trying to work around them. Since no one else gets these bugs, it must have something to do with the computer. For the record, Dikiyoba had no error messages in Magus of Cattalon. Working with the 2D editor cost me hours of valuable time that could have been used more efficiently with the 3D editor... Dikiyoba. Edit: Spelling. [ Tuesday, January 10, 2006 14:52: Message edited by: Dikiyoba ] Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

Yes. Just save it in a different save slot. Just be careful not to accidently save a game in the wrong slot. Dikiyoba is assuming that the G3 save screen is the same as the G1 and G2 save screens. Edit: Sig change. [ Tuesday, January 10, 2006 14:24: Message edited by: Dikiyoba ] Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

The data file is also real tempermental. You can screw up the game real fast if you don't do it just right. Dikiyoba hasn't tried to edit G3, but Dikiyoba's experience with editing items in G2 has taught Dikiyoba that it's not a good idea. Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

Unless you are attacked either by surprise or outside. Dexterity isn't a vital skill but it has its uses. Dikiyoba. Edit: Minor rephrasing. [ Monday, January 09, 2006 14:41: Message edited by: Dikiyoba ] Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

The character with the highest dexterity goes first in combat. It might be worth it to increase dexerity just to go first in combat. Dikiyoba. Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

I rushed through the scenario as fast as I could. Seems pretty good. Very creative. I would have liked to see more explanation about the children, though. Admittedly, it could be there and I missed it. Dikiyoba wonders why nobody asks why there is a nephil traveling with the party. Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

The data files are tempermental, so save a backup copy!(Not that most people wouldn't do that automatically.) I wanted to change some "worthless" items in G2 to sellable items (no trowel should have to remain unsellable.) It worked out in the end, but I spent about three hours trying to alter the data files and then get the game to load it up and accept it. I finally got it to work. (I accidently set trash to be worth enough to sell, but that really feels like cheating and I don't want to mess with the data again, so I just leave it alone. What shopkeeper would buy trash, anyway?) Courtesy of Dikiyoba's No Trowel Left Unsellable Act. Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

Originally by Mivayan: quote:Cloud of Blades is a really bad idea too. And usually it is so helpful. Die now, Rakshasa! Doomguards (and such) were okay in tiny spaces. Once they ran out of room, they stop dividing. Then one can wack/shoot/fireball/whatever without having another creature to worry about. After killing one, make sure to attack one with little health the next round. Dikiyoba hates doomguards too. Unless you had one on your side... Quest giver: Go slay every bandit in that fortress. They're tough, though. Adventurer: Okay. I just sent a doomguard. Give me the reward. Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

quote:A lot of members only post a few times to ask for help in a specific game. Others just get bored and don't come back. It's a good thing, really. Dikiyoba knows it is a bad question because it might encourage more useless posts, but is there a place to find a list of the number of posts needed to qualify for a certain rank? The oldest baby boomers will be 70 (those that are still alive, anyway.) George W. Bush will not be President of the United States. There will still be a large segment of society that is completely clueless. Some of the people on these boards will move on to become productive members of society. Some of the people on these boards will move on to be detrative members of society. And some people on these boards will, well, they'll probably still be on these boards. That is all the things Dikiyoba is sure about. There will be many other changes, but Dikiyoba isn't sure what they are. Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

The only problems with rivers is that they can eat up a lot of space in a town. Depending on the town size and the number of buildings and such needed to be in a town, there may not be room for more than a pond. On the other hand, some towns need more help than a simple river can give them. Plus, if every town had a river, it would be just as bad as no town having a river. As long as each town is different and dynamic, I don't think it will be boring. I think developers intent on making a good scenario are more critical of their creations than the players are. Edit: Dikiyoba just doesn't want to see Warrior's Grove. But no one's used it for a long time, have they? There is a READ ME with a complete walkthrough of the Machinery Level. It's difficult to use, but it's probably easier and more efficient than waiting for help on-line. That is all the help Dikiyoba is able to give, given the last time Dikiyoba played that scenario was several months ago. Sorry. Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

I didn't really like the interface of A1 as much as I liked the interface of A2 and the ability to be sliths and nephil is better than being just humans. Plus, A2 was the first game I got my hands on, so it is the one to which all others are compared. Dikiyoba. Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

Hooray for parrying daggers! The blade had lots of notches and was used while fencing. It had a chance of catching the opponent's blade and perhaps even break it. Regardless of the feasiblity of it, it sounds cool. Dikiyoba wonders whether parrying daggers would appeal to Vahnatai given the complexity of forging them and their dislike of being encumbered.
