I was thinking of making a scenario on BoA with a backstory like this, where the Vahnatai learned how to Shape and took over the original Shapers's territory, then fled underground when they discovered Geneforge-altering and the monstrosities available to Geneforge users. What are you expecting us to do? Is this supposed to be a fan-fic thingy, or is it a joke, or is it secretly uploading a virus to our computers as we read... -------------------- quote: Posts: 1115 | Registered: Sunday, May 15 2005 07:00 |

There is no Summon Host in BoA. There is one in Exile, but this is not Exile. This is Avernum. OMGBurn! Anyway, the Summoning spells are speshul because they have limits (eight super-strong creatures at the maximum level). -------------------- quote: Posts: 1115 | Registered: Sunday, May 15 2005 07:00 |

Nature Lore also helps in Lord Putidus, right? Gathering potion ingredients? And I think Nature Lore lets you avoid monster parties which are significantly lower-leveled than your own party. As for Pathfinder, it's probably only good if your characters are having trouble with disease and poison. Raising it just for lava is too obscure. -------------------- quote: Posts: 1115 | Registered: Sunday, May 15 2005 07:00 |

Okay, I checked and indeed, neither Erika nor any other kind of NPC can cast Repel Spirit, Arcane Shield, or Simalcrum. Phooey. If you say otherwise, you're a damn liar. And goblins will bite you when you sleep. -------------------- quote: Posts: 1115 | Registered: Sunday, May 15 2005 07:00 |

I'm pretty sure I've seen Erika cast Arcane Shield, and I think I've seen random priests use Repel Spirit. And you can do all sorts of mean tricks with custom scripts. To make a monster copy a creature, you could just set a variable to the target's type and use a call to place the copy(ies). -------------------- quote: Posts: 1115 | Registered: Sunday, May 15 2005 07:00 |

They also go straight for my pants every time I encounter them. But the sad thing is, they're great for just about any scenario. Rogue necromancers, virulent plagues, vampires, they all breed undead monsters. -------------------- quote: Posts: 1115 | Registered: Sunday, May 15 2005 07:00 |

It's also probably a good idea to standardize the coding, so it all fits one style. -------------------- quote: Posts: 1115 | Registered: Sunday, May 15 2005 07:00 |

Maybe it wasn't a monkey, but a Vahnatai in disguise. A razor-pitching Vahnatai Warrior could certainly take out a Townsperson. Yes, it's all so clear now. The Vahnatai are trying to take over the world, one assassination at a time. We must prepare... *dashes away from computer and begins boarding windows shut.* Posts: 1115 | Registered: Sunday, May 15 2005 07:00 |

Why don't you throw something into both the Slith's script as well as Phaedra's which tells them to approach the lead character while in combat mode if the script-running character has nothing else to do? And since it seems you haven't seem all the messages about multiple posts, STOP DOUBLE-POSTING! AND TRIPLE-POSTING AS WELL! :P -------------------- quote: Posts: 1115 | Registered: Sunday, May 15 2005 07:00 |

One of the section Percussion Captains (I can't figure out how they're divided, but I think it was the Quad Captain) almost stabbed me in the nuts with a drumstick. I think Erika shows up at the end no matter what. And I would have sent you my save file of right before you initiate the blow-up thingy, except my computer decided to take a day off and never came back to work. -------------------- quote: Posts: 1115 | Registered: Sunday, May 15 2005 07:00 |

I don't think Hawke's Manse has Unlock Doors level 3. House on the Hill definitely does, though; my hint book says so and I didn't make any extra notes on it. I wish I could still play Avernum 3 without the hassle of e-mailing Jeff and everything. -------------------- quote: Posts: 1115 | Registered: Sunday, May 15 2005 07:00 |

Now in condensed interview form! Yay! Me: Hello God: Hello my child. What is your name? M: John G: How are you, John. M: I'm good. G: Good in what sense? M: I'm good in the sense that I'm doing well. G: I know you are good. M: I know that too. I said it before you, too. G:Who told you that? What did you mean by it?"It" being what? M: By "it", I mean that I said the phrase, "I am good." G: Oh I get it. M: Awesome. G: I'm glad you liked it John. M: What do you mean by "it", your holiness? G: "It" refers to you said the phrase you are good, I think. M: No, I'm pretty sure that doesn't work in context; at least, there are much more likely variables "it" is substituited for. G: Are you serious? What makes you so certain? What does work in context? Where are they? M: I'm dead serious and even more certain. And "it" probably refers to me saying "That's awesome". And as for "they", I'm not sure how that's relevant or even a topic. G: But you can still communicate with me. Oh I get it. Who does "they" refer to? M: I don't know. You're the one who first brang "them" up. G: Me either. Thanks but surely I am not the only one. M: Could you clarify that? G: That's one option I guess. M: So is there some reason you won't? G: It seems we have something in common. M: I'd like to know what it is, please. G: Your polite style is very nice. Interesting."It" refers to you saying that is awesome, I think. M: Damn you. Damn you, you coldhearted metallic bastard. G: Colloquial expression of disgust. Colloquial expression. Thanks for telling me: John said I coldhearted metallic bastard. M: Goodbye. G: Bye bye. Posts: 1115 | Registered: Sunday, May 15 2005 07:00 |

Bahsskiva has a built-in ability to find your location. It's in the ability menu, the same place where you cast Ritual of Sanctification from. You'll probably be using both quite often. -------------------- quote: Posts: 1115 | Registered: Sunday, May 15 2005 07:00 |
