Hmmm.

Nero or Hillary Clinton.

I'm leaning toward Nero, but only due to the potential for a real-life Bonfire of the Vanities.

Biggest one I caught was about 35 pounds, but I was using a driftnet about 900' long and 30' deep. Biggest on conventional gear was about 32 pounds, caught in the ocean about 10 miles offshore.

Andrea, a "he", lives in one of the larger cities in the Northwest, and I've not seen anything to suggest he would vandalize. I just like not having people show up at the house. I get tired of digging holes in the ground and moving the wood pile.

It was easier to type "below" than "downstream from" and apparently more enigmatic. Given my innate ability to piss off "Andrea" and other locals, I feel it is best to remain slighty vague when speaking of my location. Of course those mods could pin it down more closely, and I've a vague idea that some other people here could even google earth me.

So, not at the damn dam, not even really near the dam at all, but I am below it. Sort of.

Was that because you were jealous of the attention received by your brother? Not saying anything by it, but your statement was kind of ambiguous.

No more valets or lending of cars. Keys are easier. Try making the sentence for auto larceny more than a slap on the wrist and one night in jail. Don't purchase used parts (chop shops) or buy 3rd party vehicles. In other words, make theft less of a financial incentive for the thief.

Drunk driving? It's legal if it is on a private road or property, at least here, but it really is a matter of public education and alternatives. The state alcohol authorities should be working harder on this, and there needs to be a turn-around in public perception. There is NO right to purchase alcohol, the seller can always refuse, and more often that should be the "case."

Now, that was a pun.

Please explain. Are you actually serious or is this some joke? Aside from the loss of personal freedoms inherent in your statement, there are many practical problems.

Since when is the government responsible for controlling the effects of weather?

Since FEMA pays people money to rebuild their houses in the path of major hurricanes. Our finest minds in government decided this was the best way to do it, so let it be done. We need the government to do this, since who else would be in the position to do it?

Despite the prevelent wisdom, Christmas is merely a Catholic event name for the Pagan celebration of Mithras (the sun god) and his return to the sky following the winter solstice. That is all.

Edit- Now I see Alo bumped in front of me, so I will answer to the second part, that of the cleverness of the phrase. Just because you don't see it, doesn't mean it is either stupid or not clever. It may have another meaning however, but that might take some personal insight.

Ephesus, along with several other ancient Greek cities, is causally discussed in Tides of War, an interesting account of the Peloponnesian War written by Steven Pressfield. Several of his other books are worth reading as well.

Hmm. The surname comes from my job, my love of the fish as food, my enjoyment in fishing for them, my excitement in catching, my pleasure in sharing them, and interest in preserving their viability as wild stock. My given name changes as to the mood, but the current seems like the best fit for now. Certain fleeting events can cause a brief change, but until something major happens, this is it.

Edit - Mustn't ever post again else I turn the eye of the overlord in my direction.

It would be pretty hard to disprove the validity of "signs" as descriptors of personality type over the population contained within that period for the era in which signs became popular.

It is fairly well acknowledged that prenatal nutrition plays a fair role in development, and while that may not be a huge concern in the countries generally represented on this board, it was a daily concern only 100 years ago, and more frequently as you look further back on the timeline.

It would be a fair stretch to think that births after the widespread use of refrigeration were affected overly by this phenomena, but there are definitely some folks that I know whose personalities tend to agree with those characteristic with their astrological sign.

Like most legends, there is a grain of truth in this, and it may be wise to not discount it completely.

And, I almost forgot, :P

Come....join the dark side. It makes it much easier to predict outcomes.

Go Cubbies!!! Oops. I meant White Sox. Sigh. The most under appreciated team in the windy city. 14 gets you 10 when you pick the total, running at 7.5, almost sounds like Vegas is moving on to game two already. White Sox lead Series 1-0, Final score of 5-2.
