So you hate stupid people? Or just people that don't understand the same things as you?

Well, sorta, but it was more of a trick question. Because (and there is no surer way than this for them to get to the WS) there is not a chance they could win. In baseball. And they only invite North American teams because they are afraid of the mad skills of the Japanese and Central Americans. Not so worried about the EU.

Good news on the scripts, I expect to see updated info on all the historical spammies threads posthaste. Chop chop. Or whenever's good for you.

Thanks Aran

Maybe we should celebrate first posts only. That's where the zombification begins, but it only really seems to set in when sarcastic replies to rants about the good ole days show up. My zombie side tells me that you should just behave, but the rest of me says you need to start creating topics (but not polls) until one sticks. You'll figure it out though.

Any chance of finding out how many
1. New topics were added to each forum
2. Topics were replied too (not just new ones)
3. Topics were locked, sorted by mod (giving thuryl another #1 spot here)
4. How many new topics were replied to with the phrase "This was discussed recently, look here."
5. Cardinals does it take to win a World Series.

I tried. I really did. Some of the horrible repressed memories of high school computer classes returned. You know, where you have to keep looking over your shoulder to make sure the teacher is still asleep. I did find some stuff though.

t0dlg - node 41ish, change tail to tale.
level 2 (or 3, whichever was hollow blocks) wraparound movement from left to right side of screen put my singleton inside a hollow.
Rename the 4th level town to "Fourth Level," unless you meant to say "Forth."

Like TM, I am reminded of why I dislike mazes, and I wonder if the teleport part of Wiz 1 translates well when I can see where I am on a automap. I don't remember Wiz having that feature. But that is probably something that could be resolved with years of therapy.

Similarly, rural and relatively wealthy states will have less violence regardless of gun laws.
Ever heard of meth? That raises the violence independent of wealth or population. You are trying to simplify a complex situation and failed.

Everything is falling into place nicely.

The White Sox are yawning past the Angels and the NL is too busy injuring themselves to worry about scoring runs or winning games. Excellent...

You need to deal with the arms dealer in the castle. Some minor ingredients must be delivered to make the weapons.

I guess if you have 200 million dollars to burn, you can get anything right?

The charm of the Red Sox is that they are in the hunt almost every season, and they almost never exceed the salary cap. They manage to attract excellent players with things other than huge salaries, and are always ready to discard players that only play for big money. It was not a mistake to get rid of Lowe, Martinez, or Garciaparra, since the Sox are a team, and not a collection of huge egos.

That said, I happen to like some of the guys that are currently taking George's money. Bernie is a standup guy, and Hosada is, well, mysterious. But Alex is a [censored] and his true colors showed last post-season when he knocked the ball out of the glove. That was disgraceful. But no use chatting over an ended season, both teams had excellent records given the injury levels. We just got beat by much better teams.

After all, the Angels had Orlando Cabrerra. Now he's a guy I wish the Sox had held onto...

Edit - the best thing about Red Sox fans is that they never ever say "I hate the Red Sox," but we sure do get disappointed sometimes. I still have the hat I was given in 1976 at the first game I attended. Not in great shape, but I'll never retire it.

As a Red Sox fan, I'm not that shocked that the Yanks bombed. They aren't a good team, and like the Sox had some pretty bad pitching problems.

As far as the rest, Chicago White Sox will win the world series in 6 games. maybe 5.

It is destiny.

Red Sox won in 1916.
White Sox won in 1917.
Red Sox again in 1918.

Nothing for 85 years except high hopes and dashed dreams.

Now the cycle begins anew, so put your wagers in now for the 2006 World Series.

Red Sox vs Braves (after Braves take the Cubs in 7), Sox win in the 7th game.

Edit - Umm, not that I pay attention to this stuff at all...

This reminds me that there are a whole mess of words that aren't in common (or uncommon) use anymore. Is that part of the coverup too? Dictionaries contain thousands of potentially deadly words, if only they could be resurrected into popular media. Imagine the damage that could be done with the utterance of "doxy." Imagine.

You're gettin' a little feisty Thuryl. Next you'll be saying that repression of certain documents by a certain church may have caused the stagnation in the post Roman era. Now that would be controversial...

Hah!

My savegame had me right outside of Blosk, so I happily report that the sign outside the door reads "Shrine of Shadows."

The priest, Mondrian, claims he is "the priest of secrets."

In the basement, look at the stuff located in the SW corner. I think they look like barrels. Anyhow, a dialogue will pop up when you see the right thing.

Then, when you get near the pillar, another dialogue will pop up. A match should do the rest.

Sorry Ash, I couldn't even get through the first section before my laughter disrupted the office. It's wishful thinking at best, rampant disregard of evidence at worst, and altogether is a danger to scientific advancement. Now that I've been exposed to some proponents of ID, I've got to wonder about the future of the world.
