No one has mentioned swimming with jellyfish. I'll assume you are scaredy-cats.

I got 7/10, but it was luck. I fingered the shotgun wielding Ukranian as a coder, but he looked more like a mountain climber. Nice guy... I do wonder about those coders though, ever heard of a barber?

I am proud to say that I recognized the Son of Sam, I remember my parents got excited when they finally caught the guy. I was more worried about how the Bruins were doing.

The coolest thing is that it is called Escape, whereas there is no way to escape except by redirecting your browser. And no, I've not found it addictive either. Only played it enough to find I suck (there's a good quote for someone) and I moved on to other more interesting games at which I suck.

With most of my income pre-spent on home improvement projects, my only frivolity is the money I set aside for gas costs on next years tuna fishing trips. When it costs $300 to fill up the boat, it is good to plan ahead.

My opinion of retailism, marketing, and value added desire is that those things are great for people with free time. It sounds great to be able to play x-box for 3 hours straight, and maybe I'll do that some day. But right now I can't watch tv for more than 30 minutes without getting restless about some project that is only half done (or half thought out). So in the end, all that marketing is pointless for me. It may be a commentary on society however that all these desire-driven products are inherently reliant on free time availability. I would think that an employer would be less than understanding if productivity dropped due to game-playing, which would translate into more free time and less income.

I've been told that this game is addictive. I did fairly poorly at it, as my crappy mouse and lightning twitch reflexes caused losses in as few as .3 seconds. I did manage to stay "alive" for 10 seconds once, but the it got boring so I stopped.

So, I want everyone here to play this game and report on their ability. Also, I liked this game because it didn't kill my crappy dialup connection. Are there other games like this out there?

The people of Avernum/Exile do not worship the Emperor. This is in contrast to ancient Eygpt, where the ruler was elevated to god status. I am sure the Emperor has his (Empress has her) own religious views, but they don't appear to dictate a state religion.

Some stuff sells, but not as well as other stuff. Since corporate law dictates that stockholder profit is a prime directive, it is rational (only in the strictest sense) to create *products* without adherence to morals of any kind. That is why there are regulations and limits on permissible products and uses.

*The game of torture would not be profitable because it would be attacked by the religious majority and the unfair publicity would make corporate managers pee their collective pants. The net result is as TM says. No risk-taking and a lot of coat-tail grabbing.*

Amphetimine is a highly profitable product, and has legitimate uses, but the illegitimate use has caused a cottage industry to spring up. In this case it is not the product that is bad, but the illicit demand that is bad.

Not sure why that was important, other than there hasn't been mention of meth for a few weeks.

I am starting to enjoy this discussion. Especially the part where Andrew is sarcastically called a genius. That added a great deal of merit to the conversation.

I keep hoping that this discussion causes the implosion of Thralni. Maybe that could be a byproduct of the intersection of the Richard and antiRichard particles.

A redneck family from the hills was visiting the city and they were in a mall for the first time in their life. The father and son were strolling around while the wife shopped. They were amazed by almost everything they saw, but especially by two shiny, silver walls that could move apart and then slide back together again.

The boy asked, "Paw, What's 'at?"

The father (never having seen an elevator) responded, "Son, I dunno. I ain't never seen anything like that in my entire life, I ain't got no idea'r what it is."

While the boy and his father were watching with amazement, a fat old lady in a wheel chair rolled up to the moving walls and pressed a button. The walls opened and the lady rolled between them into a small room. The walls closed and the boy and his father watched the small circular numbers abo ve the walls light up sequentially. They continued to watch until it reached the last number and then the numbers began to light in the reverse order. Then the walls opened up again and a gorgeous, voluptuous 24-year-old blonde woman stepped out.

The father, not taking his eyes off the young woman, said quietly to his Son,

"Boy, go git yo Momma....

Now that you know you can escape serious harm, would you do it again to freak out someone? Try tossing in some easily destroyed object (like a cat) to demonstrate the effectiveness of the acid, and then calming spill it over your hand. Actually that might work better with liquid nitrogen, since the frantic rush to neutralize the acid might distract from the show.

In A2 I used Divine Warrior on my mage and managed to have 12 AP. Not sure how though, and it only lasted a couple of rounds before he was back to two spells, and then 1.

It was probably because I used the character editor to gawd the party. Yeah.
