It amazes me how many people don't read the first post in a topic. Marlenny quite explicitly said quote:and yet we have both a dead cat and live cat listed. It is saddening. Edit - After re-reading VCH's post, I see it isn't clear if his cat is dead or alive. Apologies for the trauma I have caused if your cat is dead and I identified him as living. Condolences too. If your cat is alive, ignore the previous statement. *this message sponsored by kentucky fried chicken* [ Sunday, November 06, 2005 23:20: Message edited by: Jumpin' Salmon ] Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

I can't tell you how many times those words have led me into trouble. It is one of my favorite phrases, right up there with "You did what?" Anyhow, I did some roof skiing today, which is not as exciting as it sounds, and wondered if anyone else does stuff which is crazy, dangerous, thrilling, etc. You know if you are a risk-taker. I'm not talking about the illegal stuff either, since we can't. Stuff like sky diving, skin diving, jumping out of the bed of pickup up truck to tackle a deer that your buddy is chasing. Stuff like that. Whaddaya got? My roof skiing today is my example. I was on the shake roof (split cedar shingles) to patch up a leak. This is the barn roof, so it has a bit of moss on it, and we've had about 5 inches of rain in the past day or two. Anyhow, I started to slide down from the peak, and knew I couldn't stop. So I slid down the roof until I got to the ladder, fell off the edge, and grabbed the ladder to slow my fall. Then the ladder started to pivot, so I just let go and fell the rest of the way to the ground. Onlookers were horrified, especially when I grabbed the tools and went back on the roof. Lateral travel - 10ft. Vertical travel 4ft sliding and 12ft in a hurry. Your turn. Edit - nothing important Edit 2 - I thought it was implicit, but chicken neck made me realize that I should explicitly say that these are activities which could caused direct injury or harm to one's person. If riding in a land rover qualifies, please be more descriptive. *this message sponsored by wesco boot company* [ Sunday, November 06, 2005 23:23: Message edited by: Jumpin' Salmon ] Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

1. A government in which a single ruler is vested with absolute power. 2. The office, authority, or jurisdiction of an absolute ruler. I can think of several examples of tyrannical leadership that are accepted as normal today. *this message sponsored by r. santi* Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

I guess I see the main issue as one of morals. If you substitute slave for drug, then most people would be horrified and wouldn't play the game. The US has an interesting culture in that non-productive activites receive higher praise and more press than productive ones. The Kiwi gov't obviously doesn't like the spillover, so have acted in this way. It is a small message to the economic engine that world view of US morals is not always a positive one. I guess each of us needs to answer the "what is okay for me" question to assess the value of these moral-bending games, and that hopefully solves the perceived problem. The article wasn't specific enough, or I read too quickly, and I am unsure if actual crimes were committed as an extension of the game. That would interest me. *this message sponsored by the segno* Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

Great, another topic by him. And another donkey title to go with it. Well, this isn't as bad (hopefully) as the rest, and may be appropriate even. I was wondering what folks did to celebrate Halloween? I realize something was asked about this a month ago, but now the witching hour is upon us. So, do you trick? Treat? Attend a costume party? Complain vigorously about the pagans that actually take this stuff seriously? Edit - Posting to say you don't celebrate Halloween can be done more simply by not pressing the Reply button. Had I wanted to learn who does/n't celebrate, I would have created a stupid poll. *this message sponsored by alibaba.com* [ Friday, October 28, 2005 22:55: Message edited by: Jumpin' Salmon ] Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

Also, in the lower right corner of the map is an undead spirit that wants your help in avenging his death. You need to do this task for a bridge to appear just west of him. That bridge takes you into a room with stairs leading out of the sewers. *this message sponsored by team procrastinator* -------------------- quote: Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |
