That's why I said he didn't have to worry about it until much, much later. Come to think of it, I don't think it was called that until A4... that's strange. -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. Never had a custom title, probably never will. Can't say I'm disappointed, because I'm not really a huge fan of Drakey's theme. -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I believe Cajun means a door in the far southwest corner of the demo area... which you don't have to worry about until later. Much later. Specifically, you'll find the password in SPOILER on SPOILER. And if you're really interested, that door marks an SPOILER. Spoilers are fun! -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. quote:Hrickis is not the vahnatai. Hrickis is a crazed necromancer up to the northeast of Formello, with a rather small lair and a pair of pylons guarding him. Kravvit-Bok is the vahnatai, if I recall correctly. Uh... the best advice I can give is "don't shield yourself so much". If you're not taking enough damage, try to take some more. I seem to recall that I did this: -Stow all but one character out of the shade's sight, and thus its range. -Heavily shield that last character (my fighter), and sit them right next to the shade. (I think I used an invulnerability potion) -Wait until the shade is done, and keep healing the one character who's being damaged. -------------------- Thuryl: "Runescape: for people who are too stupid to save their games." As the others have said, you don't need to kill him to get the Emerald Chestguard... but it's fun to do it. My technique, which is fairly reliable: -Daze Nociduas before his turn in combat comes up. -When he's dazed, he can't cast his spell, so he never finishes it. -Once his turn passes, hit him with everything. -Daze him again. -Repeat. (It helps to haste your mage for this part, and a second mage helps as well) -------------------- Thuryl: "Runescape: for people who are too stupid to save their games." Since you don't have Erika, I think you just have to keep hacking away, and you'll reach the control panel eventually. I could be wrong, though. EDIT: Found it. You get teleported 5 times, and then you can use the panel. [ Sunday, March 12, 2006 13:07: Message edited by: Ephesos ] -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. If you haven't reached Correlea (the Castle mage) yet, giving yourself the item (the Onyx Scepter) won't help, because your party probably isn't powerful enough to last one round with the shades. Repel Spirit and straight-up hack'n'slash kill the shades fastest. Though I will say that for the shade of Ice and the shade of Sickness, Divine Retribution works great (particularly when they summon help). It's not so stellar against the shade of Anger, however. On a tangent, I can understand forgetting the name of one mage with no previous Avernum appearances. However, the Onyx Scepter is another matter completely... how does one forget it? -------------------- Thuryl: "Runescape: for people who are too stupid to save their games." No, enabling HTML would do a few unpleasant things: -Trolls would be nastier. -noobs would be nastier. -TM would be nastier. -Chaos would reign supreme. So, in summary, no.
