To the best of my knowledge, 1 is not possible. I'm not sure I understand what you're talking about in 2, but it doesn't sound possible either.

EDIT: More detail on 1. As far as I know, you can only use cr_which_sheet in your custom objects script, which is loaded when the scenario starts.

A fully independent site that stored the scenarios instead of just linking to them sounds like a really good idea. But what's going on with that idea about making these things designer-editable? I thought we were going to have a new database soon that would allow us to go in and update things directly instead of e-mailing and waiting.

Er, and what do you want about NK0P? How long it takes, the number of towns, and the number of outdoor sections? As best I recall, it's something like an hour, 15, and 1.

Hrm. Would it be possible to cast Capture Soul on Erika and be able to produce a copy at will? Judging from BoA, she's an independent monster type. She also might not be capturable, judging from BoA, but it's a thought.

Eh, evidently I am wrong. It relates to the abortion issue, but is not directly connected with abortion.

Still, as far as I can tell, the point remains: these embryos exist all over the place and are just being tossed out. Why not use them?

Wizcoski's mother said after the second presidential debates on Friday that the Iraqis should just declare themselves stem cells and the war would be over. :P

There's something that I don't totally get. I was under the impression that embryonic stem cells come from aborted fetuses. I was also under the impression that abortion is still legal in this country. Thus, fetuses are aborted every day, but we don't claim stem cells from them anymore. I don't get this because it's not a matter of destroying fetuses for research — the fetuses are already being destroyed. It's just a matter of using the resources that we have.

But this is all based on a general lack of knowledge on the subject.

Well, technically we're supposed to talk about Galactic Core (ew), Lost Souls (er, yay, I guess), and Ocean Bound (...) here. But GC would make most of us vomit, Ocean Bound isn't even worth mentioning, and Lost Souls doesn't really lend itself to discussing, even if it is a fairly decent game.

You are hardly the first to have this idea. It's a decent idea, but it shouldn't be done by a first-time designer. To the best of my knowledge, this resembles Spears in BoE, a classic which was Stareye's third scenario. And Stareye did in fact do it alone.

As a rule of thumb (not a hard and fast rule): collaborations in Blades don't work. They either don't get finished (99% of the time) or are bad. Massive epic scenarios by newbies don't work. They either don't get finished (99% of the time) or are bad. A combination of both... well... it seems well-intentioned but ill-fated.

I'd say any would-be designer should make a medium-length scenario before making a long one and should make a short scenario before making a medium-length one. You can skip one of those steps if you're a particularly prolific player and if you follow what goes on at the Lyceum, but otherwise, you're setting yourself up for trouble.

EDIT: I can always use slith graphics. Anything. Sliths with swords, sliths with fancy spears, sliths with robes, ankhs, wands, anything. Dialogue pics. Anything slithy you can make (beyond color edits), I can use.

I don't know what the standards are anywhere else, but here, any thread that hasn't been posted in for more than a week is considered dead. Topic necromancy is frowned upon, primarily if you have nothing new to add or if the topic was to answer a specific question by a specific user who clearly no longer has that question.

It appears that this thread achieved resolution on the "Bound Infernal" topic which both the final two posts and the reviving post were about, and the reviving post was entirely unnecessary. That's why people responded negatively.

EDIT: crossmr, it's also traditional for a newbie to recognize that a community has existed for many years before that newbie joined and to look around for a while to get an idea of what this community is like before snapping at two of its most respected members for supposedly not being civil.

Well, there is the editor. You can open any dungeon up, get a complete map, see all the items, see all the creatures, and get a pretty good sense of how the dungeon will play. Then you can open the scripts and see what all the items and creatures do and see all the messages that can possibly pop up.

EDIT: The preferred term is "pre-packaged scenarios" or simply "Jeff Vogel scenarios," not "official scenarios." One need only play a few of the non-Jeff Vogel BoE scenarios to come to an understanding of why.
