No, it doesn't matter so much to the Empire, but for my purposes I would have preferred to get at least some of the canon deities correct.

Ah, well. Thanks, everyone.

Anyone remember the various deities and major cults mentioned throughout the games? I can think of a few offhand (the Anama being an obvious example), but there's a half dozen or so scattered around.

Actually, electrical safety. Something along the lines of:
"Driver operated cherry picker beneath power lines. BANG! Dead! Electrician installed powerpoint without turning off mains. BANG! Dead!" etc. It was quite a funny lecture, in a purely unintentional way.

We had a guest lecturer once with a very thick Welsh accent. Couldn't understand a word he said for the entire lecture, except for the frequent exclamations of, "BANG! Dead."

DOCTOR WHO in General

I've got most of the books, and all the current tv reruns taped (up to Black Orchid, as of last week). The one that really gave me nightmares when I was a kid was The Curse of Fenric, and I've been put off ivy and dolls for life. Though my brothers are half to blame for the ivy.

There was a Dr Who convention earlier this year, with Katy Manning, Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy in attendance. I got autographs ... hey, it's not like we ever get that much sf stuff happening in this city. :)

"Going to America" != "Going to the USA"

Only those who live in the US think that.

I usually get complimented on my hair, just because I haven't bothered to cut it in five years. :P

The last time someone called me beautiful repeatedly, he spent 3 hours chatting me up on a plane and followed me all over Rome's airport. I was never so relieved to catch a taxi in my life.

FPS's don't suit everybody, regardless of age. Pointless violence never turned me on -- I want the story behind it. :P

Most Australians don't talk like that.

Australians tend to exaggerate their Australianisms while not in Australia, tending to give some non-Australians a warped view of all Australians.

Sure I can -- if I don't mind crossing to the other end of the continent. No snow in Perth.

Snow. Most definitely snow. Moderate climates are nice enough, and there's nowhere better to live than here, but it never snows. And I love snow.

Spidweb is the only place I have ever been referred to as 'she' before I needed to say anything.

Not necessarily. Ever seen the Ralph Bakshi version?

LotR, being the scifi/fantasy junkie I am.
Picnic at Hanging Rock
Starship Troopers. I don't know, after years of StarTrek, the lack of don't-kill-sentient-bugs ethics was refreshing.
Galaxy Quest
Groundhog Day
And, of course, all the Star Wars, Indiana Jones, etc etc.
