Can someone explain what "bubble fusion" is. Apparently, it has reappeared as a possibility this year July 2005. Sounds kind of funny to me. -------------------- Wasting your time and mine looking for a good laugh. Star Bright, Star Light, Oh I Wish I May, I Wish Might, Wish For One Star Tonight. The supermarket of the future. Solar panels on the roofs. A wind generator in back. A back up biodiesel generator for when the power goes out. A fleet of plug in hybrid biodiesel delivery trucks. Connection to the grid run by a pebble bed small scale nuclear reactor. Landscaping in front to create wind breaks and shading to keep the temperature cool. Insulated windows and walls to keep bills down. -------------------- Wasting your time and mine looking for a good laugh. I would join the Church of Divine Lucre before any of the others. They are the only ones which aren't destroyed or attacked. They just collect your cash and never have to fight. It is an easy choice. -------------------- Wasting your time and mine looking for a good laugh. Star Bright, Star Light, Oh I Wish I May, I Wish Might, Wish For One Star Tonight. Solar is no longer a toss up. With the increasing cost of oil, it is getting a big boost right now. There is a New York Times article from August 5, 2005 that basically says that the solar industry cannot provide enough panels with rising demands. There is a large back log of orders for solar power. Also in California, there is an iniative called the Million Solar Roofs which heavily subsidizes the solar industry to build a viable solar home industry. In addition there is a huge tax break in the energy bill $4000 to install home solar power. Also, many companies are providing solar mortgages as part of the building cost of a house. GE bought out Astropower which went bankrupt three years ago, one of the largest solar power alternative energy companies. GE will do for the solar industry what GE did for wind energy industry. It looks like the other one Evergreen Solar should reach profitability within two years. Kyocera the third big one which is Japanese is already profitable. The other option is something called the Solar Sterling Engine which is about twice as efficient as traditional photovoltaic cells. Sterling Energy Systems is building a 500 MW solar project in the Mojave desert of California which should be finished in four years. The home of the future... Everyone will own two cows they will collect the manure for their fermenter to run their car, you will be able to drive to town twice a week-- the rest of the time you will have to use a giant tricycle.... Solar panels will be on the rooftops to run the hot water. A wind generator will run your computer, so it will be on sometimes... The dump truck will come twice a week to pick up your garbage for the landfill bioreactor... If you don't put it out, they will fine you $10,000. You will be required to grow some of your own food or be fined because only luxury goods can afford to be refrigerated... -------------------- Wasting your time and mine looking for a good laugh. No really. What do you do with your free time, when you are bored? I have learned the ultimate kung fu moves and weapons. I have a flying guillotine, a staff which shoots spikes from its ends, steel throwing balls, kung fu hand grenades a conical hat made of iron, and steel chop sticks and rice bowl. I know the kung fu leap, king kong punch, scissor kick, eagle claw, snake fist, red hand, low moving goose grab, drunken fist, rooster kick, etc. I have toughened myself up with iron crotch, forehead bone hardening-- I smack myself in the head every day, I can run up an upright sword blade and stand on the tip without hurting myself. I am going to visit the mad monks. I would love to go bungee jumping from an airplane, sounds extremely fun. I wonder if they attach little baskets to airplanes so you can fly around in them outside. I've been to the library. Checked the stock pages, read various books-- read about the eight pieces of jade brocade, a few science fiction novels, a bit about the stock market, been to the park. Plenty of regular things to do. I'm looking for novel ideas. The airplane thing sounds like fun. Maybe I'll rent the movie Jackass. I've heard it looks good. -------------------- Wasting your time and mine looking for a good laugh. Star Bright, Star Light, Oh I Wish I May, I Wish Might, Wish For One Star Tonight. Since, I am on a kind of lunatic sabbatical, I am thinking of new favorite time wasters. The building I work in is getting asbestos abatement and a new roof, so I get a free unplanned paid vacation where I can be theoretically called in at any time "so I can't run off to Peru for two weeks or something like that" but mostly wait. I have managed to watch lots of bad cheap kung fu movies from Walmart and the supermarket. But, I am looking for novel couch potato time wasters or light physical activities . Any suggestions, bungee jumping, etc. -------------------- Wasting your time and mine looking for a good laugh. Star Bright, Star Light, Oh I Wish I May, I Wish Might, Wish For One Star Tonight. Lets get back to heroes-- Wong Fei Hung-- Inspired many bad and wonderful chop sockey films. Musashi-- Inspired various samurai epic films. Odysseuss (along with Sinbad)-- inspired various Ray Harryhausen films with animated monsters. Audie Murphy-- had a very bad film made about him. Sundiata-- no films that I know of, but had a number of childrens fairytale books written about him with an excellent interpretation by Will Eisner-- Sundiata Lion King of Mali one of my favorite "graphic novels" comic books. -------------------- Wasting your time and mine looking for a good laugh. Let me see. These guys created the basis for a lot of fictional heroes. Wong Fei Hung, Musashi, Odysseuss, Sundiata, Audie Murphy, the unbeatable heroes in history and myth who grew to be larger than life. -------------------- Wasting your time and mine looking for a good laugh. Jeff would have to license the game for it to become a MMORPG. If there was enough money given to him to use his game he might do it. I am not sure you can name god as being male or female. In Judaism, you are not supposed to even say the name of god because it would limit the concept. God appears as a burning bush and various other things. Being a supreme power and not limited it is very hard to truly grasp the "logos" or central idea of god being omnipotent -- because of our limited senses god has to appear as something which we can identify with. Jesus was begotten by god according to the new testament that means god decided to make Mary pregnant and she became pregnant through the thoughts of god or something like that. Therefore he is gods son-- a way to see god in the flesh. He is not unnamable and omnipotent, but a physical manifestation of the deity. -------------------- Wasting your time and mine looking for a good laugh. Just finished reading Umberto Eco The Mysterious Flame Queen of Loanna. Really excellent-- kind of experimental, lots of illustrations.
