The talking skull isn't mine, or rather, I wasn't the one who pasted it into boxes. I can't remember whose it is.
I'll also send you other graphics when I motivate myself to, or you can get them yourself (as you presumably did for the ones up there) at either my site (its down as my homepage) or drakey's site.
Would you prefer I send them or not?

EDIT: and the actual engine there is pretty good. Would it be possible for you to put a link/button to download stright to disk (rather than having to get a contextual menu). That's just me being picky though.

Any 'custom' spells would actually be abilities which call scripts, and they won't have the full functionality of normal spells, for instance selecting a target (some kind of selection process may be possible, but not fully). These 'spells' would be scenario specific as well.

Again that's practically what happens with BoE. Custom graphics go in the scenario folder, but the main graphics are in the app, but I'd assume that will change considering Jeff's used data folders for all the avernums.

The game itself holds the standard graphics, but custom graphics come with the scenario in a separate file. In BoE it was a meg or a bmp, but I'd assume in BoA it would be a meg (or something very similar) and a folder of bmps for PC users.
These would then be put into the scenarios folder along with the scenario file if BoE is anything to go by.

That's what happens with BoE, so it's almost certainly what will happen in BoA. There's a .exs file, which is the scenario file, and then a .meg (which is a file with the resource fork for macs) and a .bmp for pcs. I'm guessing that there'll be a folder instead of a bmp for pcs with BoA, considering that multiple graphics will be needed.

You mean like an animation. Well, you could do it a bit like it currently can be done in BoE (with frame animation and the like). I suspect, however, that it might be possible to script the monsters in BoA when it comes out, although I don't know whether there might be limit to the number of monster scripts in a town or not, meaning that *huge* battles might not be possible.

But then he might lose out on some sales which go to people who may think that the included scenarios are the main attraction and the scenario editor was just a bonus (although I'm not sure whether may of these people would exist).
Plus then there would be no way of having a demo.

It's probably unlikely, as sound files are massive (1-10 Mb/min), and I remember Jeff saying that he was quite determined for file sizes to remain small.

I don't suppose that the scripting system is so versatile that it happens to be able to somehow make joinable NPC (says in hope), like a "create new character" command?
Will scripts be able to call a timer every part turn of combat as well (like, step, *call script*, step *call script*, attack, *call script*), cos I can think of lots of uses of this (well, at least one).

You can save multiple resources in one file with GC. Just go options-->add resource to file in the save dialogue box, that is, if GC for X can actually save resources (I don't really know how resources and stuff work in X).
Come to think of it, how do PC users usually make Megs?

The include3d scenarios would be the three from BoE (valley of dying things, a small rebellion and the za-kazi run), and one new one.
They aren't really all that great, but the reason that a player would buy BoA (as with BoE) would be to play 3rd party scenarios, which are, of course, limited by whatever limitations the editor has, which is why features of the editor are so important.

Making PCs dissapear is useful if you want to show a cutscene which doesn't involve them (see the Spears intro for a good example).

Would the stoning trick actually work in BoA? I always assumed that it was almost a bug in BoE, and in BoA it might give game over straight after everyone is stoned.

I doubt the big cartoon things will be totally customisable (although they are B/W, so shouldn't be big memory wise). I'm sure it will be possible to choose from whatever cartoons are available.
As for custom missile graphics - do you mean the graphics you get in your inventory, or do you mean specifically the animations. If you mean for the inventoy, then definitely, but I don't think thats what you mean. Totally custom animations would be very very unlikely. Whether you can make a crossbow that fires razordisks, well, it probably wouldn't be able to fire normal disks, as they are throeing weapons. To throw disks which are actually just arrows would be possible to get the weapon set up and everything, but about the animation, I'm not sure again (I don't normally notice the animations anyway).
As for the wand - well, it would have to be a completely new spell, and as custom spells won't exist, it won't really be happening.
*looks back on post and realises that its not very helpful, just a lot of 'I don't know' s. Sorry*
