I have a fully-functioning prototype I was going to use in BoE, but nobody seems interested. So, I'm turning my attention to BoA.

Send me any and all BoA graphics (bxb11@psu.edu). Please don't send me sheets, send me individual items, along with a descriptors (single words that describe the graphic).

I'll start adding them as soon as I have enough to make it worthwhile.

For now, go to

http://www.personal.psu.edu/bxb11/boe/louvrejs/

for a demo of the system (with BoE graphics). Suggestions are encouraged at this point.

Looks really good.
Do you need anyone helping like you asked for BoE?
Also, which descriptions do you need. Is it just like a title, or also comments, authors name etc?

Wow! Why the heck didn't I think of that first. I must say, you've outdone yourself. Anyways, I love the system, and all systems and sites should have a good website design. Motekye Development will do your website design for a mere advertisement.

I will also do your advertisement for an advertisement. And I will do both for an ad and a link to my site in your Signature. If you want make a deal, my e-mail is Motekye@hotmail.com, my AIM ID is emotekye and my ICQ number is 172690613.

If you would like to see some samples of my Ad work, tell me, I'll send you a few of my other client's ads.

Brett already has a fine website. I'm pretty sure he'll need help again, and I'm signed on already. It should be much easier than the BoE work, though.

How so? BOA graphics are larger (generally). Not sure what you meant by "easier than BOE"

Basic Info Needed:

Your Name:
Your e-mail:
Graphic Name:
Download Location: (If not sending directly to me)
Description:
Author: (If different from above)
Author e-mail:(If different from above)
Awards:
Comments:
Key Words: Words that describe the graphic that aren't covered in a major category, like monster or item. For example, a bird might have key words like

fly
wing
beak
talon
feather

and so on

I would prefer web-ready versions of the graphics. JPG or GIF. Not BMP, TIFF, etc. I have to convert these, and that take time. Not much, but still...

As for ads? Can't do it. I'm on a University server & usage policy forbids it. :(

Thanks for the design offer, but I hope I have something that's easy to use. Could use a snazzy background and buttons, though....

As for ease? I think Drakefyre means there are few BoA graphics out there, making the initial DB easier to construct. :D

Additional question: Do we know if Jeff is going to add back in facial picts? If not, these need to come off the DB.

Brett, should we make them include the preview pic, or should we make it?

Possibly off topic, but we can e-mail you the graphics right? We don't have to have an online link to it?

It seems fairly clear from Brett's first post that he wants you to email the graphics, although he later implied that links are also okay.

—Alorael, who would check with Jeff about the dialogue pictures. Even if they return, they may not be exactly the same size. There's no reason they should change, but it's better to be safe than to have piles of unusable but beautiful dialogue pictures.

e-mail them to me, or supply this link. Either is OK.

As for a preview pic - What Drakey is talking about is, rather then show all poses of a character initially, just show one. Then if you want you can call up the enite set of poses.

This will save download time initially, as the preview pict will be much smaller. On the other hand, just seeing one pose might not be enough to make a use/not use decision.

What thinks you about this?

I think it's a good idea. You can click on the image to call the complete set in a new page, as a pop-up. Then, if you like it, you save it.
Will the database list file sizes?

Shouldn't matter really... file sizes are gunna be low anyway... graphics don't hold too much information.

And sorry about that e-mail/link thing, but I was looking at some site (don't remember what it was, I thought it was your's Brett) and it said it only wanted links to the graphic. Sorry about that... and I'll have some item graphics available soon!

Edit: Spelling... well typing actually

Well, VM, you could do that, or you could use iFrames for Graphics displaying. {iframe src="page.htm"}{/iframe} OR {iframe src="image.gif"}{/iframe}

if you put the NAME="" property in the IFRAME, then you can have a link with a target as the iframe's name. Then, when you click on the link, the page will load in the iframe.

You could also use JavaScript if you want a more data oriented system. NAME.src = "Page".

- Note that the swirly brackets represent ordinary HTML brackets.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yeah, it's a shame your University has that ad policy. But if you ever need consulting, you can ask me.
Do you already have my BoA graphics, or should I send them to you?
By the way, I searched "Giant Monsters" in that sample database there, and Baba Yaga's hut showed up. It should be "Dancing Hut", not "Danging Hut", shouldn't it?
Actually, it should be D@##$@% Hut, for as long as it took me to draw!
Thanks for the catch.
As for your gaphics, not sure. If your real initials are D.R., then I have them. If not, please send them to bxb11@psu.edu.
Okay, I will. If I notice any more foul-ups (which I will if there are any, most likely) I'll let you know.
That reminds me. Do you want me to send the rest of those edits? (Warning - There are a LOT of them, and most are comparable to the ones already sent.) Yes, my initials are D.R.
If by edits you mean BoA ready to go graphics, then yes. Send me your complete set, and I'll discard any repeats.
