I agree with BtI. What's done with him now is more important than the fact that he's been caught.

All the more reason not to make such ridiculously fragile music. If classical composers were architects, half of them would be out of a job... although given the state of "modern" architecture, I'm not even so sure about that any more.

Those aren't terrain graphics, SD. Each of those is one monster graphic; an evil tree and a hallucination, respectively.

Actually, glacial (pure) acetic acid isn't good for you at all. It's highly corrosive, and it releases vapor that messes up your lungs too.

What you have there is a pseudo-punk, not an indie rock poseur. The difference is that one is an undereducated idiot and the other an overeducated idiot.

Yeah, but normally they're interpreted as giant humans, not as cat-people. Jeff just borrowed the name, as he's done with a few others; "Micah", for one.

Well, I know of the song (eCP, not Moonshadow) from a Cat Stevens album. Regardless of who wrote it, I'm pretty sure he sang it at some point.

Of course, none of the above makes me deserve to be shot any less for what I have done to a perfectly innocent song.

Not quite.

An apostate is indeed someone who's left a religion. A heretic is anyone who holds beliefs contrary to established dogma. Someone who leaves the Catholic Church is a schismatic as well as being an apostate; all schismatics are heretics, but not all heretics are schismatic.

Alec is reasonably accurate in his definition of pagans, while the correct term for someone who's never belonged to whichever One True Religion we happen to be interested in is "heathen"; all pagans are either heathens or apostates, but not all heathens are pagans.

And "infidel" is simply a blanket term for anyone who doesn't hold all the right beliefs to be a member of your religion.

Confused yet?

I've read TAOW. Didn't find it particularly impressive, frankly. Didn't see what there was to reflect on, either; I finished it within a day. Then again, I'm a fairly prosaic and literalistic person; subtexts and hidden meanings generally do nothing for me unless I'm clubbed around the head with them.

(Yes, I'm aware this is not the same song. But they're both by Cat Stevens, which is close enough for me. )

The thing about good members is that they only post when there's something to say. The content on the boards hasn't been particularly response-worthy lately. And since X isn't the sort to start topics, we haven't heard much from him.

At least, that's what I'd like to think. The fact that he hasn't replied to this topic suggests that he's at least somewhat away.

I'd contribute, but I'm sure the male voices on this issue have been heard time and time again, and we're sick and tired of all the arguments from various sides. What we need is a female perspective relating opinions and experiences on this controversial and hotly-debated topic.

(I will be genuinely amazed if this topic survives for 24 hours.)

There's nothing wrong with returning a gift you don't like. The person who gave it to you wanted you to be happy; if you'd be happier with something else, not exchanging the gift for something you'd prefer seems positively wasteful.
