As a hilarious twist, his name is not and never was Alexander Kyras. I'm not going to tell you what it is, although you can find out on your own if you look really hard through old archives from other forums. quote:Follow the path until you can go no further, then turn back and start searching for secret passages again. quote:Various places. Don't worry; once you're past Bully Joel's quest (the one you're doing right now), there isn't anywhere that you're likely to run out of essence (except maybe the beholder at the very end, and that's completely optional). If you're desperately low on essence, once you find Joel's essence, you can drink it yourself to get a big recharge. Warning: this has consequences, both short-term and long-term. By the way, while we're talking about Universal Grammar and weird languages, what does everyone think about Pirahã? Is it really as freaky as some people claim, or has Daniel Everett pulled a Margaret Mead? -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! quote:Well, you could give out all scripted XP awards at a variable level equal to the party's average experience level instead of at a fixed level. That way, the amount of experience actually awarded will always be pretty close to the amount the status window message says has been awarded. On the other hand, you may not necessarily want a level 214 party to gain experience from going through your scenario. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Well, my impression is that Cocoa and Carbon apps will still work, they just won't run natively. It's therefore likely that Jeff won't update them at all. Updating the old pre-Carbon games will likely be a fair bit of work, though. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Just because he didn't run over my cat with a car doesn't mean he didn't own a car. :P On the other hand, random acts of vandalism aren't really a constructive solution. I don't live there any more, so I'm just pleased that he won't be causing problems in future. (As it happens, I did lose another cat to a car once, but that was an accident -- according to the driver, the cat was being chased by a dog and ran out into the road.) By the way, I'll be gone again for a few days starting tomorrow. I should be back by Saturday. No, the Tower of Magi incident isn't until much later. The problem you're having is that you're carrying an item that's making you sick. It's probably a Uranium Bar; if you have any unidentified metal bars in your inventory, dump them. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Nope. Don't worry too much, though; it doesn't interfere with your ability to finish the game. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

If he's asking for basic gameplay advice, I doubt he's playing on Torment. Just because a strategy doesn't work so well on Torment, doesn't mean it's useless -- if he wants to play as a Shaper with missile weapons, he can. Sometimes it's fun to play an unusual character. Unless a third-party character editor was actually made by modifying SW's original editor, it's perfectly legal. There's no law against making your own program which serves the same function as an existing copyrighted program.
