Funnily enough, there was a discussion on this exact topic on one of the game forums. The general conclusion we reached was that a creature with boneless tentacles would likely have difficulty supporting its own weight on land. (An octopus can "walk" on dry land, but not very well.)

Mind you, an elephant's trunk isn't so different from a tentacle, when you think about it. So maybe the general principle is still useful on land, but other appendages would be needed for locomotion.

Fun fact: technically, the appendages an octopus has are called arms, not tentacles. A squid has both tentacles and arms; an octopus has only arms.

Very tasty.

Plus eating actual tentacles is a way of realizing you're really an adult that has far fewer concomitant complications than any of the more widely recognized rites of passage.

See, now you've gone and made me mention this.

The shade moves semi-randomly between Silvar and Formello. Also, you can eventually kill the shade, which is another way of making it go away.

(In fact, by the time you finally finish the translation quest, you may well have killed the shades already. But you won't be doing either for a long time yet.)

Wow. Haven't heard of that one before. Fortunately, you can rescue your game by typing Shift-D, and then entering backtostart in the window that appears. You'll instantly be taken back to Fort Monastery.

There are other cheat codes for A4 as well, as described in this thread.

Actually, someone managed to break the forums once by double-posting the Aeneid.

Please don't double-post the Aeneid. If you break the forums, we break you.

I think all you have to do to reregister is move your old preferences file from the OS 9 system folder to Users/apple/Library/Preferences (which is its new location for the OS X version).

If that doesn't work, email Spiderweb for a new registration code.

Yeah, I noticed the same problem. It's cosmetic, of course, but still a bug. Have you checked to see if the latest version fixes it?

Kill archers quickly with your own archers and mages. Protect your weaker characters by keeping your fighters in front. If you have a priest capable of casting Enduring Barrier, cast it. Don't be afraid to leave the area, heal up and come back if you're hurt and low on spell points.

A blue rectangle means that stepping on it will trigger a town or outdoor script. A purple rectangle is a town entrance. A green rectangle is an area description.

I can't tell you what TM meant by "cream pie", and I certainly can't post an image.

You might, however, want to google the phrase.
