quote:Funnily enough, there was a discussion on this exact topic on one of the game forums. The general conclusion we reached was that a creature with boneless tentacles would likely have difficulty supporting its own weight on land. (An octopus can "walk" on dry land, but not very well.) Mind you, an elephant's trunk isn't so different from a tentacle, when you think about it. So maybe the general principle is still useful on land, but other appendages would be needed for locomotion. Fun fact: technically, the appendages an octopus has are called arms, not tentacles. A squid has both tentacles and arms; an octopus has only arms. Wow. Haven't heard of that one before. Fortunately, you can rescue your game by typing Shift-D, and then entering backtostart in the window that appears. You'll instantly be taken back to Fort Monastery. There are other cheat codes for A4 as well, as described in this thread. I think all you have to do to reregister is move your old preferences file from the OS 9 system folder to Users/apple/Library/Preferences (which is its new location for the OS X version). If that doesn't work, email Spiderweb for a new registration code. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

Kill archers quickly with your own archers and mages. Protect your weaker characters by keeping your fighters in front. If you have a priest capable of casting Enduring Barrier, cast it. Don't be afraid to leave the area, heal up and come back if you're hurt and low on spell points. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure!
