Those who said it was a psychological experiment were close. Those who said it was for an RP weren't too far off either.

More info soon.

If you do decide to try out BoE (and you should; it rocks), keep in mind that since recent scenarios are mostly designed by people who have played BoE for literally the better part of a decade, they tend to be hard -- and just because a scenario is designed for beginner-level parties doesn't mean it's any easier. Spears is a good scenario to start with; it's easy enough for a beginner but showcases many of the fancy technical tricks you'll find in more difficult scenarios.

Of course, there's always the character editor. Just don't ever admit you use it.

Question 1: Energy in General

You can't just put vegetable oil in your car's fuel tank and expect it to run, but if you have a vehicle with a diesel engine, vegetable oil can be used as diesel fuel. The trouble is, it doesn't burn as cleanly as actual diesel and can mess up your engine (although less so if it's processed to clean it up a little). It's probably not a good idea to try running a newer diesel engine on vegetable oil; old engines tend to be more tolerant of impurities in fuel (and less expensive to replace if they do give up the ghost).

I assume you mean "capable of firing over a few city blocks", because otherwise you'll need one hell of a big slingshot.

Actually, the guy who started this topic also started another identical one in the Exile Trilogy forum at the same time. The Exile Trilogy one was closed because this one got more replies.

You can just plug in a string variable wherever you would normally use a text string, the same way you can plug in a regular variable wherever you would use a number.

I was able to get so much SC/magery with my leftover skill points that I could easily open every door in the game without any problems. I don't know which is best, but this worked great for me.
Even the level-35 door in Patrick's Tower that doesn't have a key to it? I'm impressed. Wouldn't you need both Spellcraft and Magery at around 15-20 to get that door open with Unlock alone (assuming a Mage Spells skill of 17)?

Actually, in Catholic theology Purgatory doesn't have anything to do with repentance; it's simply where souls undergo temporal punishment for sins which aren't serious enough to merit eternal punishment.

GremlinJoe.

He's made similar statements before, so that wasn't a throwaway comment.

You know, if you wanted us to be able to vote, it would have been nice to actually give us time to do so instead of having the poll stop the minute you started the topic.

Having said that, your signature is kinda long. Shorten it.

Alec has the original graphics, or at least some of them. Since your General topic about the same thing seems to be more active, you should probably direct all further correspondence there.

A warning: a familiarity with the Avernum series will not prepare you for TM's scenarios. They are not like anything you have seen before.

You'd probably like Bahssikava; it's quite large and set firmly in the Avernum continuity. Keep in mind that it's for a high-level party; unless you're an experienced player, I'd recommend starting it with a party that's been through all four of Jeff's scenarios.
