No, those are modified for Blades. The original E2 graphics don't have any attack poses.

Well, yes, but SC3 sucked, and in the event of another sequel, would likely be disowned entirely in the manner of Highlander 2: The Quickening.

Anti-environmentalists argue that it's natural for the climate and species balance in ecosystems to change over time, so we shouldn't be alarmed by the fact that that's currently happening. That's a fair enough argument, as far as it goes. But extinction is also natural, and to expect that humans will be immune to it is sheer hubris. We're in the middle of what is unarguably a global mass extinction, almost certainly caused primarily by us. It's very unlikely that anything we can do will scour the planet clear of life, but it may not be so hard to make global environmental conditions incompatible with the survival of the human species if we don't make an effort to avoid doing so.

Why do you care?

Seriously. You are, as you have said, not attracted to other people. So why does it matter what other people think of your romantic preferences?

Capsulin is a basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) transcription factor expressed in the mesenchyme of organs including the lungs, stomach, spleen, facial muscles, heart, kidneys and gonads during development, and is involved in the regulation of epithelial-mesenchymal interactions (Lu et al., 2000). It interacts with the widely expressed bHLH transcription factors E12 and E47 (both of which are splicing variants of E2A) to form heterodimers that bind to DNA at a specific E-box consensus sequence (CANNTG) and repress transcription (Funato et al., 2003; Lu et al., 1998), and may also interact with other bHLH transcription factors (Miyagishi et al., 2000). Capsulin is expressed at an early stage in the developing mesonephros, beginning at embryonic day 8 in mice (Tamura et al., 2001), suggesting that it may be a very early regulator of development in the urogenital system.

Thuryl -- You have an odd definition of a variable as most computer scientists would disagree.

Correction: Jeff Vogel has an odd definition of a variable. :P

I know and you know the general definition of a variable, but since we're talking specifically about BoA here, I thought it best to use the definitions in the BoA documentation rather than confuse the issue. What I meant, if you want me to be pedantic, was "What BoA calls a 'flag' is not handled internally in the same way as what BoA calls a 'variable'". Happy now? :P

The trouble with taking traits with XP bonuses in A4 is that around the Eastern Gallery, your levelling rate really starts to slow down and stays slow for the rest of the game -- you'll be getting negligible XP from everything after a certain level, so you'll only end up 2 or 3 levels ahead, which is less than the skill point value of the benefits you'd get from taking traits with XP penalties instead.

Feel free to try and disprove conventional wisdom, though.

It's possible to "unpack" the value of a variable into two SDFs as Kelandon describes, but doing so probably isn't worth the trouble unless you really, really need to.

You can only get to Erika's tower at the very, very end of the game. In the caves in the far northwest of Avernum, you meet a Vahnatai who offers to lead you to Rentar's lair. Instead of taking up his offer, head south and eventually you'll get to Erika's tower.

EDIT: Um, yeah. What he said.

The items mentioned in his post are actually in two separate Loyalist bases. The one under Fort Saffron is, well, under Fort Saffron.

As for the other one, there's a large green rune next to a wall in the ruins of Erika's Tower. Step on it to reveal the entrance to the Loyalists' base.

I didn't find any of the shades to be particularly difficult. By the time you've actually progressed far enough in the game to be able to kill them, your party is likely strong enough that they all go down in a couple of rounds.

You need a living party member with fairly high Tool Use to turn it off. If you have no such party member, you'll just have to live with the golems.
