If you are Roman, then you never get to figure it out. If you play as a Celt you will get the message. I checked with Jeff on this during beta testing. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Scripts are available in a file called "Scripts." You should play the game a few times to get an idea of what happens before thinking about making changes. Some changes can have unintended consequences like the player who revised a monster description to make an mage and changed all ornks into mages. The emerald chestguard started in GF3 and was copied with several other Geneforge items to A4 to save Jeff time. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Besides the aranea are already hostile to you. It's when you go after friendly creatures that you really have consequences. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Use the edit button and don't triple post. Be sure to get Bel's permission to leave Annwn before killing him. Otherwise I think you're stuck there and need to use the editot to leave. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Enter the Maze of Thorns from the north side in the middle and go west. There is a hidden area in the northwest corner that has a mass of webs in the north end. Go into it and you wind up on the platform to get some nice loot for fighters. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

The only place I've seen a dagger of the sun is below the Temple of Brigante when you kill the high druid. In Annwn, you can't even get into combat range as a Roman and I doubt the Celts are allowed to attack him without getting killed. Either way there shouldn't be any consequences for killing Bel. You need to reach the Halls of the Dead using the portal from the Spirit Homes. In the Halls area there are several secret passageways, two of them lead to rooms behind the feasting hall and Bel (north part of the map). One of these rooms has the crown. Save often since there are plenty of undead and a few auto kill places where you can't go. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

First you can't kill Bel. As Romans you can explore part of the area behind Bel using a secret passage. As Celts you can explore parts of the feasting hall. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Which side are you playing? There is a different riddle for the Romans and the Celts. For Romans try "bones" or "skeleton" and for the Celts it's "smile" as an anagram of the clue words. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

This sounds like Galag-Trav with the pit in the center of the lower level and the fomorian watching from the northwest. I checked you take damage and die when you can't get out. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Actually with the demon, he can't move so popping in hasted to cast acid spray and then using the rest of your movement to leave will wear him down. You can deal with his summoned minions outside the room. This encounter is easier as a singleton since you don't have to move fighters out of the way to let your mage wipe out the demon. quote:There are few quests than Avernum 4, but you get to see Shadow Valley from both the Roman and Celtic viewpoints. It takes a little less time because it's a slightly smaller world map. There are 25 outdoor zones with a dungeon in all but one of them and most dungeons are multiple levels. You do get to try more variations in parties than Avernum since the Romans and Celts have different skill sets. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |
