Nethergate Resurrection - Roman Singleton (some spoilers) in Nethergate

Now that I have beast circle at 4 with the beastmaster bracelet, the game is getting easier. Charm beast has worked fine with intelligence 2, druidism 5, and beast circle 4 against asps, basilisks, gryphons, and dark and spectral wolves.

Icy longsword only heals 8 to 15 points for the deathblow, but any healing is helpful,

I'm working through minor quests and looting Hagfen to raise money for weapons training.

The worst part about the Roman is healing elixirs are the best combat healing I have. So I'm wandering about the valley waiting for energitic herbs to grow every game day since that is the limiting factor in potion making. The character editor doesn't have it and there aren't that many to buy until the end game in Shadow Valley Fort.

I think Avernum 4 was the first time that we tried to list all the moral dilemmas that Jeff placed in the game. There were several pages of justifications and ways of making up for our actions.

As Romans the morality of killing these strange creatures fits in with the culture. The Celts have less justification since these are their allies.

The Selkie curse doesn't seem to have an effect on you. If it makes you feel better, after getting rewarded by the Hags, I go and kill them since they drop better loot.

This game loves to make you feel guilty. You can be moral or you can be a mercenary and kill everything for money and another dip in the blessing pool.

It's not that he robbed them, but that he was clumsy and set off the alarm to get caught.

Go down the stairs and look through the boulders. You would think Sylak would have a lip on the platform to keep tools from rolling off of it.

This isn't the end of the chase.

Read above, you get the mission in the Castle which is long before the Abyss and Giant lands.

Work your way along the north wall from about the center to the eastern edge, you should get a message about finding the Eye. When you do it will escape to a new place. Until you hit the exact spot you won't get the message.

That's the main ending. There are probably some minor variations where you fail to stop Roman groups in the Spire of Ages.

It's not the web block but just south of it where the giant stone pillar stands. It doesn't really matter unless you like to make potions.

The eye doesn't want to stay put, so get ready for a chase. Head north to the wall from the pedestal and go east. Pay very close attention to the messages so you don't waste too much time looking for it.

Killing the guardian shouldn't cause the town to hate you. Killing a local or stealing and being seen is more likely.

It's randomly determined when you first enter the zone, Repeatedly replaying the fight doesn't help once you enter the zone.

The best places for getting it are Shardfield and West Illya Road, but I did get it once in Sinkhole Bridge.

I haven't tested it, but you aren't supposed to be able to go back to the top level after you reached the lowest level. I guess that character edit is your only option.

You might want to compress your saved game and send it to Jeff, since this sounds like a bug.

It just hit me this morning, without druid mastery I have to take off my encumbering armor (armor, shield, and helm) every time I cast simulacrum and then leave fight mode to put it back.

This forum will only exist retroactively. Future post will have been written before you've thought of them.

I think this makes my first and only post in this forum.

I think it's the combined strength of the party, since that's how most of these are done. Just come back later in the game since you can get by without it now. By then you can sell it or find someone that can still use it.

You can't use the route you took up to the upper level. You need to go down the stairs that are first west and then south of the queen's chamber. This leads to the middle level where you fight some fomorians and lizards to head first east and then north to a hidden passage that goes northwest to a route down to the lowest level, From the storeroom there is a hidden door back to the area you visited.

There should be some messages to keep you from going back.

Actually it's buy one level of beast circle in Hagfen, get the beastmaster bracelet, and pick the beast circle scroll for the Hagfen quest reward.

The only Avernum games that have been upgraded to Universal were BoA and A4. Jeff only upgraded A1 and A2 to OS X last year, so it may be a while before he does it to Universal.

You can't get in as Celts, period.

As Romans it helps to pray at the altar on the upper level to get permission to get past the wards. You still need rune reading of 14 to find out what is hidden in the northern crypt area of this hidden area.
