What determines the appearance of a thahdskin tunic?

- Is Luck involved?
- Does it depend on how you kill the thahd? (Fire, poison, melee, missile, amount of damage per hit...)
- Is it randomly determined upon the thahd's death, or upon the thahd's spawning??

It is randomly determined on the Thahd's death, and Luck increases the chances. Only enemy Thahd's drop the tunics.

It's randomly determined when you first enter the zone, Repeatedly replaying the fight doesn't help once you enter the zone.

The best places for getting it are Shardfield and West Illya Road, but I did get it once in Sinkhole Bridge.
