Game-dooming mistakes in Exile 1 in The Exile Trilogy

There a few places where you can get trapped by overwhelming enemies if you run out of potions for energy and healing, but that can happen anywhere. The worst are Grah-Hoth's old fort, the return trip after freeing him, and of course his current fortress. But having a saved file from before entering any dungeon will prevent the worst of these from happening.

Any item can be dropped in wilderness and lost forever if you hit "yes." The Orb is classed as a special item in Exile so it should be safe. Now Avernum is a different story where it takes up an inventory slot, but at least can't be sold.

Using Word of Recall spell to go back to start and leaving a boat behind can happen in some games. The editor will return boats to start so it isn't a fatal error.

I think the worst problem is killing off a non player character before he, she, or it helps you with something you need much later in the game. Killing dragons is the best example, but some people kill off whole towns. Making towns hostile by blatant thievery is a similar problem.

I think he's hoping to get a custom title. Then he can complain after all these years that this was the best that they could come up with for him.

I knew that Tyranicus would push Nethergate and it's remake Nethergate: Resurrection. Still if you like Avernum, then this is where the game engine started. You don't have to spend as many hours here to enjoy yourself.

Happy Birthday to Alorael and if you want to know which one then look it up yourself. You aren't getting older, but just closer to finding out that Social Security and pensions won't be there.

Thanks for the chance to keep even with your ever growing post count.

Microsoft has always had memory hungry programs since the start. That's why we have so much memory in our computers and hard drives. You should have been around when PCs first came out and the salesmen used to apologize for it.

Did you see that pool in the center of the room? Go to the wall by the gate to reset and then push the blocks into the center. It takes some thought, but once you get them all to disappear the way is clear.

I did feel a California earthquake out in Arizona once about ten years ago. It shook the chandelier.

Mostly it's been tornados passing through when I lived in Chicago. Never had one get too close to notice.

Gryphon feather -- whoops! in Nethergate

In the northwest corner of the Jagged Aerie was a molting gryphon that dropped a feather. You need a character with 6 (it used to be 7) or more dexterity to catch it. Use the character editor to get special item 33 (gryphon feather).

This is why you don't kill innocent things before you finish quests.

The flaw for some two income families is that the expenses associated with having both parents work exceed the lower spouse's income. Between extra income taxes, child care and housekeeping expenses since one of them isn't there to do the work, job related expenses, etc. it can add up so the family is losing money. Sometimes you are better off if only the higher wage earner works because of these costs.

Nethergate Resurrection - Roman Singleton (some spoilers) in Nethergate

Finally got some time to play and I have finished Goagh-Nar. I am now level 26 and have most of my equipment. I started using the editor for healing and energy elixirs so I don't waste hours wandering around looking for potion herbs.

I still think that Jeff needed to add more fomorian crushers to the game. They are nasty, but as long as you don't get swarmed they are too bad with some ketchup. King Rova is nasty because he slows you when he hits. I just let him fight summoned beasts and slinged him from safety.

Rose Lady and the Faerie Bazaar Master are spared for now since I still want to buy stuff there and not have to haul everything back to Vanarium. Since Jeff weaken similacrum spell, Reptrakos will be skipped. I just don't have the invulnerabilty elixirs to deal with him and his summoned stone guardians. Otherwise I cleared everything else, but one paralyzing barrow wight in the Abandoned Mine and that group of druids in the woods south of Vanarium.

As long as I can keep from being out numbered by damaging monsters it isn't too bad. Capture mind works wonders on the nastier types like Gwyar in Hagfen.

Skulls for Black Fang Woods crone. in Nethergate

It was the same in old Nethergate. The skulls never show up in inventory.

The goblins are near Galag-Trav outside the surrounding mountains. One is in a cave to the south near the river and the other is hiding in the garbage dump.

When you have gotten them you will know because you get rewarded for it at the spot that you got the quest. I replayed the goblin fights because I thought I hadn't got the skulls the first time I did this quest.

Go back to where you got the skulls quest from the witch. If you got both skull stealing goblins you will get an interesting message. The skulls don't show up in inventory or special items.

We are getting a lot of bots joining and *i has been keeping them from posting. You have to have pull like Aran to get your bots as posting members.

Now if Aran was still posting on the 17th the monthly stats page, you could see that most new members except for Iffy don't post that much in their first month.

Same way the Celts do. Go to Galag-Trav and fight the fomorian chief on the lower level in the northwest hidden passage area. When you get a special item, you will know that Moonfire's quest from the Faerie Bazaar is done.
