Level 52 in Geneforge. The trick is not to use any canisters -- I didn't use one, although it didn't seem to change my ending. Poll should've been a bit more inclusive? -------------------- One of these words is mispelled. Posts: 284 | Registered: Tuesday, January 31 2006 08:00 |

Instead of changing PC stats, enemies should be made stronger. Stunning you beyond resistance if need be, etc. I think if you don't focus on a skill, it should be your weakness. It's this lack of necessary player weaknesses that brings up such debates. What about some unreasonably tough enemy? A test, or something you don't have to do. Like the Golems at the Testing Grounds in GF3, but harder than anything else in the game. The challenge would help players decide on the best class/strategy. -------------------- One of these words is mispelled. Posts: 284 | Registered: Tuesday, January 31 2006 08:00 |

I liked it. The movie just came out. Why haven't I seen it? The Da Vinci Code is fiction. FICTION. It's meticulously researched and largely without fantasy (ie very realistically possible) but it's just a book. Is Dan Brown's assessment true -- that this revalation is "shaking the very foundations of mankind?" I don't see why every religious zealot has to get his punishing chains in a bunch over a book. I mean, you don't see people pissing and moaning about the bible near as much as about The Da Vinci Code. And it didn't even get a movie. -------------------- One of these words is mispelled. Last night, I watched "That 70's Show" and spilled beverages. The last thing I downloaded was a lot of porn. I've licked many batteries, and my finger has found home in light bulb sockets and open switchplates; my dog once peed on an electric fence, too. In my opinion "rap" is missing a 'c' . I'll be registered to vote in a few months. I've made a few crank calls, including police impersonation (told a kid's dad he was a heroin dealer to get him in trouble; he deserved it). I'd love to go sky diving. I've been to China and all over Europe and I live in the U.S. I like the Boondocks. The best movie ever is Animal House. Payday bars beat out everything else. I've never won a significantly important award. The original "Donkey Kong" can't be beat. I puked in class once, when I was little. I'm already a millionaire. I don't know any SW members well enough. Love at first sight is very real; the brain decides on sex appeal within 1/500th of a second. Mostly, I think about ... I'm not saying. Johnny Depp (only cause people say I look like him; I don't) and Whitney Houston. Food poisoning. Seinfeld. I played Age of Empires a few days ago, and Pikmin yesterday. I don't rent movies, I tend to buy them and never watch them. I would rather be dumped than dump. I may well be the dirtiest SW forum patron. I've never regretted a kiss. -------------------- One of these words is mispelled. Posts: 284 | Registered: Tuesday, January 31 2006 08:00 |

I use them as I get them. Always. You get experience. Actually, I tend to run out of things to unlock before I run out of Living Tools. I even unlock quest doors before I do the quest (the ones in Dhonal's Keep for instance) for that much more exp. -------------------- One of these words is mispelled. I voted Guardian, Magma ... I like being able to stand next to something knowing it will be reduced to a puddle in the next ten seconds. However I don't use creations as a Guardian; the ultimate character for me would be a magical Guardian with no shaping skills. That way, I could augment myself further. But what's the point of good armor and weaponry if you're not going to use it? Guardians are where it's at. Am I the only one who thinks of "Donnie Darko" when I see "Dakro?" I loved that movie. -------------------- One of these words is mispelled. Posts: 284 | Registered: Tuesday, January 31 2006 08:00 |

Sholai and Sucia Island in Geneforge Series | |

What do you mean by "the Empire?" The Sholai describe themselves as coming from a barren, isolated land; due to lack of resources, they must trade to survive, and meet as many other civilizaitons as they can. So if the Sholai had broken off from the Shapers, a case of ignorant isolationism is very unlikely. The Sholai in GF3 implies that they've only just met the Shapers. The temple's carvings were written by Sucia natives. The descendants of those who wrote it became the Shapers. The other natives were wiped out or horribly mutated (like the Shades and Heustess). This provides no evidence that the Sholai originated there. In fact, it is almost impossible given GF1's history of Sucia. The only remaining theory I can give you is that the Sholai populated Sucia in the first place. So in that respect, the Sholai would be the origin of the Shapers. It would explain the language similarity. But let's not get into universal common ancenstry. I could submit that the Shapers came from Lucy. -------------------- One of these words is mispelled. Thanks, Zev. I'll be honest: I did not see it coming. I thought the "ancient race" was totally unrelated and had been wiped out before the Shapers arrived. It is made pretty clear by notes that the Shapers exploring Sucia had no such suspicions, and that the ruins were already haunted. So the Shaper cult is a few centuries old ... maybe we can form a vague timeline. o Sucia is populated by savage and unorganized natives. o Some isolate themselves and build the temple to study. o Separated islanders gain magical talents, then imprecise Shaping talents. o They attack* uncivilized islanders by Shaping them. o Some+ are inadvertently made stronger, and new diseases are born. o A few talented islanders escape Sucia. Some shape themselves to become immortal drones. o Mutants and diseases wipe out islanders^. o Immigrants from Sucia take over on the mainland, becoming the Shapers. * Motive unclear; probable want for power. + Is Heustess one of these? Surviving "savage?" ^ Presumably everyone on Sucia Island died out. -------------------- One of these words is mispelled. Posts: 284 | Registered: Tuesday, January 31 2006 08:00 |

Without discussing it, at least right off the bat ... how many people have found the Big Secret? It's in the original Geneforge, and that's all I'm saying. But I want to discuss it. Just ... without revealing it to those who haven't found it in-game. And I'm still going to be vague in talking about it. ... so ... If you haven't found big secret of Geneforge, read no further. It will ruin your life forever. -~=~- SPOILERS FROM HERE-ON-OUT -~=~- . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . My initial reaction to the Big Secret was a desire for more detail. Not a shrug and "I guess." Given millenia to contemplate such things, you'd think one have more to say.
