Originally by Ephesos: quote:Or falls on them, because a Christmas tree almost hit me a few days ago. (The funny thing was (since I'm back in Oregon for the holidays) the top news story on the TV at the time "Across the Northwest, trees are still falling.") Dikiyoba will be a green spider. Specifically, this green spider. Edit: 2500 posts in a year. Woohoo! [ Thursday, December 21, 2006 15:41: Message edited by: Dikiyoba ] Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

As far as the story goes, not much. There's some additional subplots in A1 that weren't there in E1, though. As far as the interface goes, there's quite a bit. Avernum has fewer spells, a maximum of four adventurers instead of six, is isometric 3-D instead of 2-D, and has no dual-wielding. Food and dialogue works differently. Dikiyoba. Have you discovered the "Great Secret"? That is to say, have you been able to get into the temple in the Spirit City to talk with the spectral priest and seen the ancient shaping platform? Dikiyoba. Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

Time wise, it's probably better to get the unicorn charm from the unicorns rather than wander around outside. Eventually, you'll want the shroom charm from Morog and probably want to steal the scroll from her as well. Dikiyoba. Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

'Tis true, Tyran. Though it looks like I'm wearing clothes in the photos I've posted, it's actually just a trick of the light. In fact, a lot of things in those photos are tricks of the light. Except for the hat. The hat is real. Dikiyoba actually looks like this.[/sarcasm] Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

Yeah, the weather's been just bad enough to make searching for the missing climbers on Mt. Hood difficult. From the article: quote:Does that qualify him for a Darwin Award? Originally by Kyrek: quote:You're not distinguishing between shaping and the Shapers. Shaping didn't result in the drayks being banned and killed. The Shapers did that. Originally by Kyrek: quote:What's wrong with drayks? They aren't inherently bad, either. On Sucia Island, Akkat, Rhakkus, and Syros were independent and intelligent but they also showed respect for your character (and also towards a few other figures) and loyalty to the Shaper who created them. It was the treatment of the drayks by the Shapers that turned them against the Shapers and forced them to create drakons. If the Shapers could have banned the creation of new drayks but left the remaining ones alive as a new race and with a place in Shaper society (probably in some sort of history- and research-keeping role, since they live for a very long time), then the rebellion wouldn't have been successful.
